All of a sudden your bully boy tactics loses it appeal, be very careful what you wish for Nass, i wouldnt want to curse anyone but I do have the power. You've had enough ill luck to last you a life time without the curse of Neptune being bestowed upon you, now play nice and let people voice their opinions without fear of prejudice.
I put BATTLEOFTRAFALGAR up on here as an each way selection last night when it 28-1....now as low as 16s. Yard in form and tell me a good performance is expected. Will do well to beat the consistent jolly though.
I did back Neptune too often, but he wasn't a curse, he won me some nice money. Lovely horse he is too. Trot on Plato. Zen, interesting little heats, not quite the fascination of the festival races but good little heats in their own right. I wonder if Long Run might struggle a bit with giving weight away. I watched his Gold Cup back last night and he didn't half get into the bottom of a couple, if he jumps well he wins the Gold Cup this season.
Hope I havent cursed you Stick, didnt see your post but i recall you telling us about it some years back when the yard bought it from AOB, it went straight in my NAG ME and it paid dividends when it won at 40/1
Carry on and the curse will be forthcoming play nice, you have been warned young man. I wish you no bad luck, but you are slowly but surely leaving me with no choice Neptune will reap your fortunes if you continue
I was hoping for eight against Long Run to take him on EW but the proximity of the Ascot Chase has stolen Medermit. There are still 4 (+1) decent types in opposition. Whilst you would expect him to win, I still suspect he might well not be seen to best effect in such a race. That leaves us with the question of who to take him on with. If it turns into a stamina test then I think he'll win but if it's a steady pace then he could get done for toe. As such, I was keen on Medermit from the original entries because he had form over shorter. I couldn't have either of the Nicholls horses in such a race because both are quirky and surely require a strong pace to run at. The Giant Bolster is the horse that fits the bill but he has a 6lb penalty for his win at Cheltenham so has to give 6lb to everything else and only gets 4lb from Long Run. That leaves Burton Port. He looks a proper stayer too and really came into his own when facing a thorough stamina test. Therefore, he isn't really the type I would be looking for from the original reasoning but probably still rates best of the rest in this race. I know he has been working well and should be ready to go. It might be a no bet race but if I am tempted he would probably be the one for a little nibble EW. What would be your thoughts Nass (or anybody else)?
I think RV has competition for village idiot, one believes a fatty burger is good for you and the other thinks a horse can curse you
Similar view, I would love to take Long Run on but we don't have a great pace angle in the race who could snatch a slowly run race. Burton Port and The Giant Bolster both might help set it up to be a stamina test and that will suit Long Run, and with the absence of the flat eight I would be wary of backing anything in the race. I think Long Run can be beaten, but I also think he should beat this field if he jumps around in a decent style. If KS was in this race I would be with KS
I jest you not Nass, no more chances one more sly dig and i will enforce the curse, its abit close to Cheltenham for you to take any more risks
Stop talking bollocks you two. He wins tomorrow in a hack canter. The only horse that can get near him is the legend tgat is Kauto. Take him on....MY ARSE!!!
Weird Al was only 2 lengths behind him at Haydock Stick, he isn't bulletproof in a race of this nature. He should win, but he might not, unfortunately most of his rivals could also run stinkers. If the big horse jumps as he did at Chelts he could prove to be the one to pass.
Cyc many thanks for the reply fella . I think I will have a small bet on him today as I feel the race lacks any real quality. I am not so fussed about jockey bookings at Meydan as I am sure they just mix it up a bit. Godolphin almost went through the card last week and Frankie didn't even have a winner, SDS had two . Races on the AW track today so suppose I am guessing but I love a bet out at Meydan and hoping he can get me off to a good start btw how good is that card at Newbury tmz - WOW
I have protection Nass. To stop a Voodoo spell being placed upon you, acquire some bristles from a pig cooked at a Voodoo ritual, tie the bristles into a bundle and carry them on you at all times.
