An interesting card at Fontwell today and easy to read too much into things but, AP going for two outside rides!

Jamie Snowden is a trainer we could be hearing a lot about this season. He has brought some nice Frenchbreds during the summer and one of them, ALANJOU could put previous racecourse experience to good use and take the opener. In the handicap hurdle at 4.50 he runs LUCYS GIRL 10-1. It has taken a while for him to get this one right but now he has I think she could show a lot of improvement and her opening handicap mark could be very lenient. He also has a really nice sort in the bumper called CENTORIA but I am passing that one over possibly at my peril. It isn't often you see a bumper being contested by a horse that won it the year before but that is what MISS LILY LEWIS is doing. She disappointed under a penalty next time out and that is good enough reason to take her on. My hard earned will be on BEATRIX KIDDO who is a half sister to the very useful Raya Star. If she is fit enough first time up then she would be the one for me in a competitive little heat.

Agreed that it's an interesting card Stick. I picked 3 out last night and put them in a Trixie...

3:10 - Brough Academy 6/1

Stable has a great record at this course. This beast was having its 3rd start over fences LTO when it blundered away its chance as favourite in a better race than this. Is the highest rated hurdler in the race and returns to the scene of its hurdle win. As it is only the 4th chase start of its career, normal improvement should be enough to take this against ordinary opposition and the 6/1 I got looks value.

3:45 - Guards Chapel 7/2

Won over the course LTO and comes from a stable with a fair record at Fontwell. Beat a dual subsequent winner here by 11 lengths giving away 8lbs. Faces a rise in weights and class but I after its last performance I think it could be up to the challenge.

5:20 - Safe Investment 3/1

Another one from the Hill yard. Won going away in a better race than this over this course and distance LTO and I fancy a follow up as its main rival is a bad finisher here (pocket talk) and I think this one will take some stopping.

Morning all hope you have all had a profitable week, intresting to see you siding with lucy, s girl stick I have sided with cannon fodder 10s and 9s so not much in the bookies eyes .Cannon fodder had an exellent run last time out coming 2nd to nickynut job in a very fast run race jockey goldstein has had the pleasure with cannon fodder in 6 races 4 times arriving home 2nd so 9s looks value ew .

Wasn't impressed by the fitness of his bumper runner yesterday Stick - looked as though it had just come in from the field. Be interesting to see if this one strips any fitter, but at the moment I'm not sure this is a bumper yard.
 
Rank outsider NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH looks way to big at 14s with paddy down to an exeptionally low weight scudermore could get a big winner here nothing but the truth has already beat the 2nd fav doctor rik of 5lbs less but today races of 8lbs less last time the distance was some 22 lengths over same distance and corse

I had noted your comment yesterday oddy which tempered my enthusiasm slightly.
 
concur with the Brough Academy synopsis--and aiden coleman riding is a plus--he has won on his last two rides for lawney hill-- i am wary about Upton Mead, so will do a r/f.
Also notice V Dartnell's b/f My Son Harry is supported earlier on the card--a sure sign of intent.

York seems very difficult , with soft ground and end of season runners , its hard to be confident about much there --may end up backing Lancelot du Lac for sentiment....
 
Going to side with chilworth screamer in the 345 at 6s ew tom cannon has plenty of experience with chilworth and a good record guards chaple looks to weighted and joshua may be being asked to much to bring it home at this distance the fav the tracy shuffle looks very weighted aswell and 3s max 9/4mainly shows not much value .

Dear BHB / Racing For Change,

There are seven days in the week and one of them has been preserved by the religious nutters and is an excellent opportunity for leisure activities for the secular majority.

Why is it then that in staunchly Catholic France, Longchamp are able to stage a card featuring three Group 3 races, each worth £32.5k whilst in Britain, you have only managed to stage an eight race NH meeting at Fontwell where the feature is a Class 3 hurdle; and a seven race flat meeting at York featuring a Listed sprint and a couple of Class 3 handicaps?

Both of those domestic meetings have produced competitive fields, which may attract racegoers and will be welcomed by your paymasters the bookmakers. As your stated intention is to attract new racegoers into the sport, should you not be making sure that Sunday is utilized for top class racing as well as Saturday?

Perhaps you should concentrate on recruiting a new leader. How about Sarah Teather? She has lost her way and does not know what she stands for, making her a perfect fit. How about a Royal ambassador? The Duke Of York is looking to raise his profile as they do not even recognize him at his mother’s house.

Ireland is more Catholic than France and also manages to stage excellent racing on the Sabbath.

The Northern part of the island only has racing once a year on a Sunday,at Downpatrick,and it is regularly picketed by religious bible bashing freakshows.

This area of the UK is incredilbily ****ed up...The Health Minister in the devolved assembly is anti gay marriage,anti gay people giving blood,anti same sex adoption and is a member of the Free Presbyterian Church,as are almost all his party colleagues.

He is also an openly young earth creationist who believes God created the earth within the last 10,000 years.What is most disturbing is that this clown has a significant mandate from the cretins who live and vote here.

He,and his acolytes,make QM look like a liberal.

Those people who think most of the world's fruit cakes reside in Tehran or Tora Bora should come here for a visit.

nice one dexter-- tis true what you say bout cranky religious folk--they reside all over the place, but the ones nearest home often get overlooked--never mind what resides in the USA.....

Just had a text from my mate PM who co owns Hitchens advising me not to back it in the 3.00 at York due to ground concerns.

Not sure if that is of any use to anybody but thought I'd pass it on.
 
thats handy info dexter-- its pouring down in fontwell--that will suit forum fancy Brough Academy in the 3 10-- them bookies have trimmed it half a point lately...
