A race to watch and savour. Rock On Ruby is too big though, there is value in his price and if I were betting I'd be on him. But I'm not I also want The New One to win for my accy
I have said all along that he has a terrific turn of foot when others have tried to tell us he is a stayer! I still think he needs to brush up on his hurdling though!
The problem with that race today is that we didn't have a good yardstick for the form. If Australia Day had run we might have had that. All that said, it was a lovely seasonal reappearance and The New One is clearly a very good horse.
Careful not to get carried away guys! It was very, very good but to put it in context guys Hurricane Fly beat RoR just as impressively (if not more so!) at Punchestown and that wasn't Rock on Ruby's debut either!
Silly price stick, when the vast majority of his chief rivals have yet to jump a hurdle ................ hopefully he'll lengthen again for you, but somehow I doubt it. Mind you, Billy Hills still go 5s
My Champion Hurdle top 3 at the minute are 1. Hurricane Fly 2. My Tent or Yours 3. The New One This order could well change during the season if Hurricane Fly starts to show any deterioration. Ain't seen any yet!
He was impressive and he showed a turn of foot, which was the good thing. 7/2 quotes are silly but I think really what you want to do is let the Fly hammer a field in Ireland and let his hype get drummed up. MTOY will also be a flashy victor wherever he turns up, so hold your antepost bets for now!
