Nass, meant C4 made my mind up for me late on when they reshowed the Lincoln footage because I forgot to what extent Capt. Bertie flew home <ok>

The four main English Guineas trials have proved completely useless, unless it continues to rain until early May so that the Guineas are run on soft ground.

I would not back the Nell Gwyn, Craven, Fred Darling or Greenham winners at Newmarket as none of them looked like a Classic winner in anything but an ordinary year. If the ground comes up worse than good, there will surely be a temptation for Ballydoyle to run Camelot in the 2000 Guineas; otherwise I expect that both of our Guineas will be 4/1 the field as there is no outstanding candidate based on two-year-old form. The Dewhurst form looked good after the Craven but nothing after the Greenham.

I will stick with my original prediction that one of the English Guineas will be won by a French-trained horse.

Feel very disappointed as had Fury and Uriah heap and feel both would have won if allowed to run straight but stewards in this country will allow anything but murder. In the case of Uriah Heap look where he finished his run compared to where he started and every inch of that drift was caused by the other horse.

    Cheers Toppy

I'd take the 14/1 available for Mossey Joe for the Champion Novice Chase at Punchestown next week. Fancy him to go very close to overturning Sir Des Champs and can't see him out of the first three.
