Half the trouble is Richard Johnson is so inconsistent with the stride he asks for. One minute he expects the horse to go in tight, the next he is asking them up ridiculously long. I just wish he would do one thing or the other consistently. Same story on Captain Chris (watch the Haldon Gold Cup replay). That was the reason Captain Chris unseated. He was so uncertain about what Johnson wanted him to do. Menorah is good, but does need to jump better. Might be capable off it. The thing with him is that he can jump nicely, he just makes mistakes. Cue Card is always awkward.
By the way ladies and gents, Allure of Illusion running today might signal the begining of the big names being rolled out from Willie Mullins perhaps? If he wins today he'll be a big Supreme Novice candidate.
Little dabble on Loch on Loca at Punchestown, whose best form would give him a real chance in this, having run in very hot handicap chases before. Paul Carberry up top for Tony Martin, and I think he might show up a bit better today.
Afternoon all just back from the local market, now for some lovely racing action Frascati Park next at Warwick
Tidal: I see no one answered your question re Pricewise. I'm unsure myself now, although I saw them on ML earlier, but I'm pretty sure that Swincombe Flame was one Edit: I have fancies 4 or 5 for this race now - I think that wherever Featherbed Lane finishes, Decoy must be in front, Swincombe does look thrown in, but I have gone for a small ew on Lightning strike, who was also entered at Warwick as a precaaution
By the way guys, as I'm pretty fair, I signed up to Racing Post this week, and I now have comments on any horses featured in the stable tour (including all those Willie Mullins horses I mentioned yesterday!) So if you tell me the name I can hunt to see if it has been commented on in any stable tour by its trainer
Well done Oddy and RV...great price. That was a trappy race to go napping in! Nice run from Lavelles horse in fourth on second start.
