Busquets deliberately handled the ball on to bar as well Oddy...should be down to 10 men.

There seems to be about 7 matches each day in the rugby world cup. Or am I dreaming?

Dexter, a Swedish girls birthday party? I used to work in Sweden, say hej to her from me <ok>

RV, just watched the St Leger back, you were spot on about the pace but I still don't think young O'B did much wrong. I thought he gave the horse a fair enough ride. In watching it back it just amazes me how close Brown Panther got in the end, he was the first beaten at one point, a dour staying performance. The winner is very good and surely could be a superb talent as a four year old?

Anyone see anything today worth watching back then?

The 6.00 at The Curragh...the winner, who is a big colt, and the late tenderly ridden Optimist who ran on nicely. The second was backed and travelled well for a large part of the race..decent maiden this may well turn out to be.

The ground was soft by this stage, but the winner looks really decent and the fact he wasn't backed, and the second string, suggests he will improve loads.

Dex, know what you mean. My view though is the player who plays worst in the backs for the aussies (bar Ioane) might make way for o conner. Theres huge competition amoungst the backs as they are all pretty versitile. As you say with the 9 & 10 their have serious flair and will score bundles of tries.

I cant resist having a decent bet as the Italians often fold in a big way once they know they are beaten. Worth putting the spreads on, if its close after 20/25 mins can always take some of the loss.

Danbo, been a while mate. Would call you for a chat but off to US/Canada for 12 days on business tomorrow but will try and keep in touch.

WOW I have just looked back at the race - didn't notice this on first viewing but SEA MOON would have won that imho if he got out - just keep an eye on him when he gets caught in the pocket. He has finished that race full of running, amazing what looking at it another time does I thought he was just rubbish on first viewing. Nass agree Brown Panther did well to finish 2nd

RV its fair to say Sea Moon would have finished a lot closer if he hadn't been boxed in but the winner looks a very, very good horse and I'm not sure Sea Moon would have got to him. I agree with the sentiment that Hanagan should get more rides in races like this - Peslier doesn't know Donny like Hanagan does.

    5-0, another Rooney hattrick

I think its OK that the stable jockey doesn't jump ship in a G1 cos he thinks he has more chance of winning on another beast <ok>

What will they do with Masked Marvel now? BC Marathon? Or put him away as a cup horse for next year?

To me Sea Moon is just a Cup Horse rather than a middle distance horse, he is relentless in his gallop but I think he would have struggled to get near the winner had he been given a clearer ride (worst ride in the race imho)

    I've watched it back.

    Couple of points:

Sea Moon finished well but was he gaining on Fallon in the last 100yds? I'm not sure he was.
I don't like Fallon as a jockey but that was a masterful ride and probably one of the best i've seen in a major race this year. Brilliant race riding to keep Sea Moon on the rail when the favourite was beginning to pick up.
Seville was travelling like a dream throughout and seemed to run out of steam in the last couple of furlongs. Expect that one to be running at the Carnival for a certain South African trainer next year. Certainly no dog and will win races but he needs to stop running against group one horses.
