Be interesting to see if Raya Star and Next Sensation do the same. Both like old boy Ted have the option of ‘Grand Annual’ or ‘Arkle’. Given the handicap marks of some in the former that heat is going to take a lot of winning this term. Incredibly hot race.

    Ah, Barton Rose, tks Stick!

Uncle, you rascal, this is the first 'multiple' I've done in a dog's age, and, yes, it is a silly bet as I'm sure you've found out for yourself recently?

The Grand Annual is full of exposed horses, anything with some weight in hand would be better to go for that rather than the Arkle which has a Supreme winner, a Champion Hurdle winner and a horse bred by Frankie Dettori in it.

I quite like the horse Pipe has in the Imperial Cup, he goes well on heavy going and looks to be improving. Baltimore Rock is his name.

Really hoping that Vibrato Valtat is a NR as I have him in the County less than a week later. I know horses can and do run at Sandown AND Cheltenham, but not very successfully I suspect.

Gaspara was the last wasn't she to do the double, with Ashkazar just failing the year later?

Ted Veale could easily go for both races with three days between them.

I just about remember Chinrullah running in the CGC the day after winning the CC in 1980.

In any case I'm not so sure TV is that well h'capped off 146 considering he won the VOBCH of 134.I'm aware it's always dangerous to literally interpret snd correlate 'Chase and Hurdle marks but I just don't think he's as well weighted in the GA as a lot of people think.

AP did a really low weight for Gaspara, I remember it well, I decided to back against her despite all the hints of weight and Pipe plots. Still bitter about that one.

She turned into a right rogue after that season, I remember her throwing a race away at Wetherby (I believe Ollie Magern won the Charlie Hall the same day) that she should have hosed up in. I backed her that day!!!!
