Was going well!! Then seemed to jump out left and just got himself into a bit of a mess by the looks of it!!
Bartley should have been 100/1 Was due to be at Chelts today but not brilliant on my feet so sat watching instead!! (saves a few quid) 12.35 Aather EW
Sprinter Sacre jumped nicely at Donny, not much of a race but I thought it was a very encouraging debut.
Like Toppy I fancy the Henderson horse First In The Queue here. Looks a big price at 14/1. Sprinter Sacre jumped well and adds another string to the Arkle.
It's early days yet, but that doesn't stop the infernal encroachment of the festive season. So at the behest of the good woman, we bundled ourselves into the trusty Ford and set sail for the twisting piece of tarmac known as the Razorback. It's a stretch of road that begins on the other side of Hunchy, and climbs it's way through jungle until it finally reaches the top of the Blackall Range. From here, it's a hard left, then a 40k trip across the peaks and dips of the local part of the Great Divide. Once on the 100kph road, the wife grabs the arm rests and hangs on for dear life. It's a scenic drive, but one fraught with danger if not taken seriously. As we scamper over the peaks and dips, in a drive not unlike a roller coaster ride, I try to alleviate the fear in the good woman, by driving one handed and pointing at the horrendous drop off on the side of the road. I'm always thinking of my dear wife's feelings. As James Cagney used to say, "That's the kind of hairpin I am." Anyways, we eventually rolled into a small hamlet called Maleny, where the light of my life was to perform with a choir. They were wonderful. Sensational. It was at this point that I decided to front up as the man of the house, I offered to take us to dinner. This did the trick as far as the return trip was concerned. As my better half was by now starving, the 100kph, cross mountain jaunt, by now in the dark, went by with barely a shriek. With all the finesse of Jim Clark (no not him, he's dead isn't he?) I blasted us down the Razorback, through Huncky and Palmwoods, then up the local minor ridge that leads to the Nambour connection. From there, I fanged it into the club. Both of us had curry, mine vegi, the wife's had meat in it. As we diligently stuffed our faces, we listened to the duo on the stage, as they worked their way through some slow, romantic music. The place was packed, but nobody took to the floor. I thought it a real shame, so decided to do something about it. I whizzed the surprised missus out onto the dance floor, where we were the focus of all attention. I brought the house down....well the lighting system anyway. During one of my electric turns, I caught my foot on a cable that brought the fittings down with a humongous report. As I was being manhandled out the door, I gave 'em a right mouth full I can tell ya'......****s!
