ROTO fair enough but struggle to see how could you not be convinced. They have pulled miles clear of a horse Paul Nicholls holds in high regard. Has a great attitude and jumps well.He has achieved more than Grand Crus had at this stage of his career and needs further. Also giving 7lbs to the runner up.
One thing you have to take from Gevrey Chambertin is that he is not flashy- he has a super attitude and races whatever is around him. I like him and we know he will relish 3 miles based on todays evidence. You never know how far they will go when they meet top animals but I like his attitude and that will stand him in good stead.
He beat a horse that I think certainly won't be any superstar and who also looked green in the run in. The Nicholls horse clearly needs further as well and I think was only out for a spin if I'm honest. Wouldn't surprise me if he actually turned out to be better than Gambrey Chambertain over hurdles. Yes he has a likeable attitude but he was pushed to the limit to win by a horse that probably won't be much. I'm not completely writing him off or anything but I just don't think he's up to top class.
Think you are having a go at the second horse there with no evidence he won't go on to be good on what he has achieved so far. Yes he was beaten 20 lengths on his first start for McCain but by Coneygree who won a grade 2 at Cheltenham last weekend and a further 18 lengths back to the third who won through the week he has good form and McCain seemed to talk positively about him for the future in his interview before the race. Gevrey conceded 7lbs and if you go back and watch the replay you will find he has done it a lot easier than the neck suggests and was pulling clear after the line. Once he spotted Corrin Wood he laughed at him and said goodbye
like his brother then roto. btw, loving your sig toppy. in fact, going to go and watch that race now.
Hi Ollie Twitter @AppraiseForm you have to join Twitter i have limited the numbers of followers so far to 20. This for obvious reasons. No subscription. If you request to follow i will let you in, as i only want genuine followers. This keeps it nice and tight. I threw Kumbeshwar in today for not606 as i was ultra confident and like to give something to the forum if i'm sure, i dont think ive used the word 'canter' before! About 80pts profit (100% proofed) since 1st August 2012 no losing months. Coupled with previous proofed selections about 140pts profit in a 7 month period....thats a serious bundle of cash. I'm piloting another sytem under the thread 'exclusive' thats a bit slow at present. Cheers
Afternoon all. All over Bourne here. Shattered to hear about Go Native - RIP fella and deepest sympathy to connections who strived to get the horse back on the track for so long.
We'll see how the race pans out. No point in arguing about conjecture at such an early stage. Tom Scu got a 4 day whip ban to get him up on the line!
