A good day out at Chelts today. In the first Standing Ovation just didn't appear to handle the track at all - just could not keep his position and was all over the place. I don't think it was anything to with recent mileage. My 2 forum picks ran pretty disappointingly but got few nice places to finish only marginally behind the bookie. One selection I did get right was Taquin De Seul winning best turned out! What an absolute specimen of a horse and an impressive winner IMHO considering he apparently needs cut in the ground to be seen to best effect. Saw him come out of the winners enclosure back to his box and he was full of it. I reckon he could have gone round again. In the last race one for another day must be the runner up Deep Trouble. Was held up in last place for the first 1/2 of the race and made smooth headway to challenge the Walsh hotspot at the last hurdle. Very honourable runner up giving the winner 5lb. Definitely one in the notebook.
Sorry oddy! I was certain OW would bolt up but oh wel- hopefully they send him back hurdling - everything was in his favour, the ground, the track and the distance but if he cant win today I cant see him winning any major prize money ! You would have a nice little barney rubble too
I'm a bit cursed at the moment mate - seem to always have small stakes on the winners and lump on the losers I think they'll persist over fences with OW, it was his first run today and he only just got beat. TDS is a smart animal, a natural born chaser and I have him down as a future festival winner - the question is whether he will go Arkle or Jewson?
wont do that again---also backed my team Bangor--who beat the other top side Airbus--at 3/1-you right though stick , not a thing for health!
Perhaps you should have backed him then if your cursed Yea he does look good but i think the jewson would be the sensible route on paper the Arkle looks very competitive (but hard to say when alot of them havent jumped a fence yet lol) but its only one of the many mysteries we will come across
