Some pretty good racing from all round the country tomorrow to build up for the weekend- Just had a quick look at the cards & have picked out 2 at the mo (which will prbly be it for me)

14.05 Chester- Questioning 3/1 NAP

He has really got his act together this season, sandwiching his Earl Of Seton defeat of Twice Over with two fine runner-up efforts to Penitent, the most recent of which coming in particularly testing conditions at Sandown. Which will mostly be the conditions for tomorrow plus is drawn on the inside.

15.05 Chester- Gabrial 2/1

Not a hard one to pick but the unexposed colt is Richard Faheys best chance of a winner at this meeting. His owner loves this track and he was alot better than the result suggests on his reappearance. Is drawn in stall 3 but from what the trainer says about him, he could be drawn in any stall- he thinks alot of this horse
 
I've come up with a sure-fire way to make money at Chester today; sell umbrellas at the station.

Failing that, Call To Battle is value at 9/4 to confirm Curragh placings with David Livingston and finish in front of Mickdam, who's trainer has expressed concerns about the going. The other 2 runners are also dangers, mind you, but 9/4 is a better price than I expected about John Oxx's charge.
 
Hi. I'm up, it's raining, racing on channel 4 so as nowt better to do I'll take a look at the form BUT if you are relying on good advice from me then the bookies will be happy. I am sure we will be guided by our better informed cyber buddies as the day progresses!

It's my birthday today so took the day off work to do the Yorkshire 3 Peaks and it's tipping it down. What should I do instead I hear you ask? To the pub is my answer.

We all know the stalls decide who wins what at Chester and yet apparently there's money for plenty of high drawn horses today which I think is completely barmy.

I've had a small bet on David Livingston at 10/3. He's the best horse in this race and i'd expect a win on the way to the Derby where he's a good outsider for place behind Camelot. He's got the arse end of the draw today so small stakes.

I agree about Gabrial wooly. Fahe seemed confident in his sportinglife column and with two dangers withdrawn 6/4 seems fair.

I'll back Sticks each way as well.

19.40 Clonmel Tugboat

Galileo gelding who had 2 runs on the flat for John Oxx, finishing 5th on heavy ground at the Curragh on debut over 10 furlongs before scoring over the same distance in an 18 runner maiden at Navan in November. He has since moved to Edward O'Grady and made his debut for the new trainer in a 14 furlong handicap at the Curragh last month. He was well beaten that day in a race where they were strung out like washing and I think that was very likely to be a pipe-opener. It would be interesting to know whether it was always the plan to go hurdling with him? The booking of Barry Geraghty really catches the eye and I think Tugboat should be up to taking what looks a fairly modest contest.

Nice mixed card at Clonmel btw - would love to see more of that in the UK <ok>

Likewise with you Quel- Have had a small bet on David Livingston- He has the best form coming in to the race and AOB only has the one runner today. Thats good enough for me.
 
Can I ask the great brains on the forum a question??? Has anyone ever owned a racehorse prior to Wayne Rooney?!? From the media attention he is getting at the moment it would appear not. Today, for instance he and his wife are plastered all over the front of the &#8216;Racing Post&#8217; whilst pages 2-3 have a huge picture of Michael Owen and his reaction to this sensational fact! Totally insane, say I.

Am disappointed, meanwhile, that Goodwood has &#8216;fallen&#8217; to the weather. Was greatly looking to forward to Sir Henry&#8217;s Air Traffic making his seasonal bow in the &#8216;card commencer&#8217;. Still log him in the old memory bank and remember the name...

Chester has its usually plethora of non-runners today and I see that Sir Michael&#8217;s Sea Moon is already out of tomorrow&#8217;s Ormonde.

Finally, noteworthy that Mr Henderson, the forum&#8217;s favourite trainer, has seemingly got half his stable entered in the NH Flat race at Uttoxeter on Sunday. I&#8217;ve said it before and I&#8217;ll say it again can&#8217;t wait to see him run the filly SEAHAM HALL who is one of those he has put in the race. She&#8217;s a half-sister to both Clowance and Keys and looks to have the potential to be a real good &#8216;un.
 
Many happy returns Quel, a real conflict of suggestions for spending a birthday, 3 peaks or the pub! I'd be choosing the unhealthy option whatever the weather. I see that Hugh Taylor is taking Stick's advice and tipping Seannie, currently 11/2 bet 365. There seems to bit slight intrest in Lexi the Princess, 3:40 Chester
 
Good morning chaps... Rain, rain go away and dont come back until at least we get a half decent summer... Which will last approximately 4 days...<laugh>

After 1 winner and a host of seconditis calls at Chester yesterday i shall see if i can improve on that today... But dont count on it...

all in all it has turned out to be a pretty poor Chester card with so many non runners resulting in no e/w speculation.
Purely for punting purposes and a bit of intrest I have taken

3:05 Seannie
3:40 Lexi the Princess
4:45 Stand to Reason (nap)
small win patent
 
David Livingston is my biggest bet in a while. Can not have him getting beat here and very happy with the price on offer. Off to study the rest of the card.
