Two for me today 4.55 Punchestown â Sous Les Cieux 3/1 (BOG) I really like the look of Sous Les Cieux today running in what I believe to be a weak Grade 1 race. Although he hasnât been at his best since his impressive victory in the Royal Bond hurdle back in December I think this horse is ready for the step up to 3m after a never nearer 5th behind Simonsig at the Cheltenham festival. The return to a softer surface could be the key today and it is also interesting that he runs in first time blinkers. He is the highest rated performer in this field and having looked through the opposition closely I will be disappointed if this 6yo canât get back to winning ways here. 6.05 Punchestown â win Champagne Fever 11/4 (BOG) This looks like a very good bumper with the first and second (Champagne Fever & New Years Eve) clashing again. There are also a few other interesting types in the race. My preference is for Champagne Fever to confirm Cheltenham form â he is 2lbs worse off with New Years Eve but the Willie Mullins horse will certainly handle the ground and I am unsure if we can say the same for New Years Eve. Champagne Fever showed a great attitude from the front at the festival and a similar performance today ought to be good enough to see him win his 3rd race in a row
The "Broken Britain Selling Stakes" - Class 7 - 8 run. Penalty Value 87p 1. Failed 2. Squalid 3. Faded 4. Lack of Direction 5. Chav 6. Binge Drinker 7. Teenage Pregnancy 8. Town Centre Punch-up Any more for any more? I had a spicy fish stew for lunch, although the German definition of spicy is about as exciting as a wet fart.
Only the one for me today, and its the forums favourite trainer (Despite what SBC says!) THOMASGAINSBOROUGH - 3.20 Epsom
Not a chance today. I reckon he's the best horse in the race but I'm worried by his withdrawal at Cheltenham and a few reports of him not being very well since. Willie says he's fit but i can just let hm run and win. It's not as if I'm missing out on a big price.
Oddy, whoever runs I don’t think that there would be many bids in the post race auction although in good old ‘Broken’ Britain fashion I’d sure a minor Royal would be asked to present the trophy! What is it about racecourses and Royals presenting the trophies by the way???
whats the point - main race of the day off just fecking abandon it. Will not be saying that if my bets win
Fathom Five has got to be a good bet in this first at Epsom, it has won the race twice, will not mind the ground, has an excellent draw and Ryan Moore booked. It's a sprint so obviously hard to call with any confidence but there is no horse with so much going for it in the race.
Bluesky I am not betitng in the race but a big fan of Henry Candy sprinters BLESS YOU open to more improvement than most and is 8/1
I reckon another couple to consider in the Epsom opener are Lost in Paris and JAMESWAY if it handles the ground
Right chaps, not looked at any cards as ive just been watching the snooker, but find out half the card has gone at Punch...!!! Is Punchy a big thing over there that they HAVE to have the hurdles because of the money involved...? Seems a bit silly to me...
yep was an interesting booking on cadeux pearl which i looked at but ignored. ambion wood golder call R/F at perth
