Poor old John Daly had to retire from the Australian open after running out of ammunition...stuck 7 balls in the drink....
Thought Jameelia Girl 3.20 Southwell might offer some value at 25/1- good form as a juvenile and needed the run after a year off the track in September. Robert Cowell's few horses been running okay on the AW in general last 4 or 5 weeks, and Gibbons does well for this yard. If coming on for that return, should be up to playing a hand.
Sheesh, that was a horrible looking fall for Stephen Clements in the 3.40 at Taunton. I hope he's ok, he looked like a rag doll.
In an attempt to bash the bookies, im going for the Nicholls one in the 3.50 Southwell KALAHAAG at 20/1
Never mind these 25/1 winners, it takes REAL talent to get a 1/2 shot beat: 3.55 Full Result 1st 4 Its The Ice I Like (IRE) 8-1 2nd 11 Mini Vic (IRE) 25-1 3rd 5 Moon Over Mandalay (GER) 1-2 F
Im sure you can quote that later on in the season when you napping your selections Oddy... Proper talent that pick... not that ive much room to talk... hahahaha...!!!
4.50 Kempton- Lily Potts, friendless in the market yet again, shaped with great promise when running on behind Shirocco Star at 66/1 in a fairly warm Newbury maiden. 20/1 today, nicely bred, but unfashionable yard. Surely overpriced and capable of being in the mix for the frame?
Jockeys found guilty of excessively using the whip will face lesser penalties under the latest rules issued by the British Horseracing Authority. The number of uses remains at seven in flat races and eight over jumps. Any rider going one strike over the limit will now receive a two-day ban rather than five, and second offenders' bans will be doubled to four days. Stewards will also hear jockeys' evidence and review video footage of notable incidents.
