What a race at Down Royal. What courage and never say die attitude from QDLR and jockey <applause> Reminded me of my old fav Beefy grinding out the Listener in his third Irish Hennesey.

QDLR will be a player guys. There'smMassive improvement to come from him as he was nowhere near tuned up today, that was clear from the way he travelled <ok> Heartbreaking for Sizing though, feel for his backers. Led to the last 20 yards.

Early days Zen - many wouldn't have called Long Run the Gold Cup winner after his defeat in the Paddy Power Gold Cup this time last year <ok>

Luckiest monkey I've ever won - Halo always getting beat there 'til the fav tipped up.

That DR race was unbelievable, I backed Sizing and cannot see how he stopped so quickly, fair play to the fav he kept going but the 'screw' element of the Sizings resurfaces....

Kauto Star Mk II? Well done RV, my selection simply lacked the class of the winner.

Kauto Stone looks the real deal. Opposition were decent, if not top class, and he made them look ordinary, and on the bridle too. Very exciting.

Interesting point, so do you think Midnight Chase advertised the Gold Cup form well prior to tipping up? How many subsequent winners has the 2011 Gold Cup produced?

Considering last years Gold Cup reminds me of berating the 2010 Champion Hurdle at the time but no-one listened then but they do now... What's the chances in a few months that people will be agreeing with me that the 2011 Gold Cup, whilst visually exciting, wasn't worth the paper it's written on. Something for Long Run backers to consider. Just a thought.

    The Minack 3.20 Wincanton

Lightly raced and Scottish National run can be forgiven in his Novice chase campaign, still looked a bit inexperienced that day. Nicholls has his horses in fine form and the market suggests this one has a big chance. Being well backed (currently 11/4)

Lots of bets today as good racing.

    LIBRANNO 3.40 DONCASTER 15-2

Like the look of Libranno here. His form is rock solid and although he has had a long season his 3rd in a group 2 on Champions Day last time out was very good indeed. This is a tough ask off top weight but he still offers some fair value at 15-2
