What excuses would he come up with, when England lost? "I'm down to the bare bones", would have to go, for a start. Also, he can't ever, ever, make up with players he's fallen out with, so a good player, who gets on his wrong side, might as well see if he's got any interesting foreign relatives, in his family tree.

I'm just so very bored of the way England play, when you watch a Germany/Argentina/Brazil game you know there will be entertaining attacking football, the England teams of the past few years have all been too defensive more liking. Much rather watch a rampant Saints rip a whole team to shreds to score a lovely team goal.

I voted no, because I would much rather see Roy Hodgson come in. Redknapp will just use his England tenure whinging and complaining, most probably about the quality we possess. Truth is, compared to Germany/Spain/Brazil, our team is simply outclassed therefore unless we pull off a 'Greece' and defend our way to the final, we simply cannot beat these teams. And that would be horrible football to watch.

Incidentally, and changing the topic, does anyone else find Belgium's sudden crop of youngsters intriguing? If they can gel in the next few years and they live up to their potential (Lukaku, Courtois, Hazard etc) they could be contenders for 2014. A big 'if' though.

I voted YES, because I didn't give a toss who else might be the next England manager, so it might as well be Redknapp. But if you want Roy Hodgson then you can take my YES vote away and make it a NO. To be honest though, it really should go into the DON'T CARE option. ;)

I disagree. If Alex Ferguson was the manager of the 'current english crop' they would be an absolutely awesome side, attacking to the hilt. Our current crop as the case for the last decade or so is absolutely brilliant. what they do on the pitch is not. Some dodgy players chose for strange reasons adds to this but if you take your best 11 andput it down it would be good enough to win the prem for sure!!! Just needs the manager that can get them to play well, has better range of tactics than Mmmm 4-4-2 isn't working so lets try 4-4-3. No thats worse so we'll go back to 4-4-2 as Capello, Sven, McCloud did.

As for Belgium. Is this the same scenario as the World and Euro Cup winning French side where they weren't french at all. Mostly from African countries like Algeria and Senegal?

Truly great managers don't want to manage England though. because unfortunately no manager could ever get past the media pressure that is built up before any major finals. Whilst we no doubt have some very talented players making the breakthrough, and already in the squad, for some reason they just don't work together, and we seem to have that annoying fear of Wembley. Although you are correct when you say if we had a top manager in charge of our golden generation, we'd probably have made more of an impact. We wouldn't of had to endure those tedious conversations about how to play Lampard and Gerrard together either.

In regards to Belgium, although I'm not 100% sure, the majority of their players are actually born in Belgium, but I think there is some African influence in their, namely from Morocco.
