only 5 days left? to complete transfers seen no real action toward ex city players that would bring in some much needed revenue.
Is the clause about selling on a good thing? in todays markets running down contracts seem to be the "new norm" players we sell seem to get to a team where they stay and by the the time they move on are worth less than when sold?

If there was any intent for there to be progress, then the board should do it's upmost to keep him this season..
I believe we have the most balanced side since NP took over...break it up like we did with LJ, then any progress would be flushed down the carsey! :emoticon-0172-mooni

If it’s silly money fine, otherwise tell them to do one. Whilst we can’t prevent players if they want to progress they have to be fair with us too.

Surely even they have CCTV, it shouldn’t be that difficult to find out who they were, ban them, it’s not difficult. I’d say the same if City fans did the same, we don’t want those sort of people at games, we all get tarred with the same brush

Steve Cotterill death threat after Bristol Rovers draw
By Ollie WestburyShrewsbury Town FCPublished: 1 hour ago
Shrewsbury boss Steve Cotterill was subjected to a torrent of vile abuse following his team’s 1-1 draw at Bristol Rovers.

The former Bristol City manager was heading to the touchline for his post-match interview when he was stopped in his tracks by home fans in the stands who targeted him with a string of four-letter words.

One fan also shouted ‘I wish you were dead’ at Cotterill, who had a brush with death during a long battle with Covid-19 just over a year ago.

The group of middle-aged men were then silenced by a fellow Rovers fan as children milled around the ground.

And speaking after the incident, Cotterill refused to let a few idiots tarnish the image of all Rovers fans.
“I came back here as a former Bristol City manager who has been successful and I’ve still got a home in the city,” said Cotterill, who won the League One title and EFL Trophy with Bristol City in 2015. “That abuse is not acceptable but I have lots of good friends who are ardent Rovers fans.

“It’s a few people who decide they wanted to have something to say, but I don’t know what you can do about it. You’ve got to take it.
“They are far enough away from you, but there’s a lot of people who are brave when they are 20 or 30 feet away.
“The stewarding was pretty good, and another guy told them to pipe down, but unfortunately this happens in football. Thankfully, it’s an isolated incident.”

Earlier, Ryan Bowman’s first goal of the season had done enough to earn Salop a draw at the Memorial Stadium. The forward bundled the ball home after a goal-mouth scramble from a set piece.
And this cancelled out Ryan Loft’s earlier strike which gave the home side the lead midway through the second half. The Town boss believes his side had the chances to win the game.
“They went ahead with their first effort on target,” the boss said when asked about the game. “It was disappointing because we thought we could have scored three or four in that second half. And we think we had a couple of good chances in the first half. The possession will be even, but our changes helped us and got us on the front foot a little bit more. They score the first goal and then you are hoping you are going to get back into it.

“But I think with the chances we had on goal today, 20-odd efforts.
“I remember us having four efforts in their box. I am not sure if we had not been chasing the game if they would have scored.
“It was a hard-earned away point but when you look at the chances it was a game we should have won.”

Wishing death on a man is vile, lowest of the low, no excuse, this animal has got to be found, exposed and procecuted, normal banter you have to expect but not death threats.

Still has a residence in Bristol, just recovered a near death with Covid 19, highly regarded for his efforts by a large goup of Bristolians, it stinks.

    Totally agree.
Didn’t LJ also have to move house because of Neanderthals threatening him and his family I seem to remember?

Yuu can't even blame the younger element...

I noticed the report stating they were middle aged men as well, they are old enough to know better, rivalry is fine , but that kind of abuse is well out of order, especially with kids around. Without doubt they should be found and banned from all football grounds for life, the police should then be called in with a view to possible criminal proceedings.

Those were our fans though..... If I recall correctly, some of our fans also did it to Tinnion a few years back. Wishing someone dead is pathetic, and has no place in football at all. As for being called a few four-letter names, come on, it's football, and he's an ex-City manager, he must have expected some abuse in his direction.

Here is the BristolPost report on LJ and the death threat, it doesn't state from which side of Bristol the threat came from.

Lee Johnson: Bristol City head coach on death threat and being forced to move house

Bristol City head coach Lee Johnson tells BBC Points West he received a death threat during the 2016-17 season after signing Bristol Rovers striker Matty Taylor.

The Robins lost a club-record eight consecutive league games midway through the campaign.

Johnson's side are fourth in the table and the 36-year-old was named Championship Manager of the Month for September.

Ahh, 4th in the League and a Manager of the Month; remember those days? Unlike some, I miss them...... Seem so far away, although the signs of improvement are getting more noticeable.
