In fairness he has given youth a chance, partly choice, partly necessity I agree, but he has. I think the HPC helps, the young lads training alongside the first team players.

Another reason why Bristol City and Nige are where they are-

Worth bearing in mind that this season Nigel Pearson has reduced City's wage bill to under £20m,the lowest it's been since our first season back in the Championship in 2015/16,under Steve Cotterill/LJ. He's also spent less than Luton Town have, in his 2.5 years at the club so far

I imagine all clubs from the championship downwards has had to do the same after the pandemic.. its all relevant for the times we're at..
Doesn't excuse, not getting the best from the players he has....You keep harping on what a brilliant coach and manager he is...hes in his 3rd season...needs to start delivering...no more excuses..

Bryan under Steve Cotterill was in the PFA League One Team of the Year.

That was L1, though, a big difference in delivering in the Championship vs L1. I don't recall him being in that team, but likely we would have had a lot of players in it that season. However, no doubt about it, JB played the best football of his career under LJ, he's done nothing since.

I thought he was a solid defender, good physique, tank full of courage, leads from the front but for us injury prone, I would have him back playing for us if we could afford him.

I also thought Josh Brownhill was a good buy, a good player and another we made a profit from.
In fact I would go as far as to saying that selling JB and not replacing him contributed a lot towards our tailing off and failure to make the playoffs in LJs final season.

He's gone to Wycombe. We didn't really want him anyway. Thanks for the info.

there is 2 or 3 teams in the division set up to be mid table teams ... the players they have are in the twilight years and done well to date ... the hope is they sneak into the top 6 or do well enough to attract potentially "high gates, [ from what may be normal ] ....

I thought Naismith was your best player. After his mistake, I thought he was very good.
