I can see where he’s coming from as without the points deductions for 2 teams we would have been right in the $hite. On the flip side, there were others below us, including our close neighbours over the river, and 3 newly promoted teams, so why do the pundits still always pick us. I get we conceded the 3rd most goals in the division last season which probably is in their thinking, but we scored the 6th most goals in the league, and we have strengthened defensively.
I think we could be top 10, but certainly don’t see it as being easy. We should be top half easily though

 

We aren’t, and never have been, a fashionable club, many pundits often underestimate how well we’ll do, it’s just the way it is. Mid table is my prediction, a good run could propel us up a bit. 6-12 my prediction.

 

I agree with this - but a lot depends on whether Semenyo recovers or if we replace him - IMHO he is our 'star asset' and if we lose him (injury or sale) then our wings will be seriously clipped.
I'm not saying that without him we will be in danger of the drop, but I certainly think we'd be more bottom-half than top-half if he wasn't available.

There's also Weimann - fantastic for us last season, but can he sustain it for another season? We'll see........

(And yes - I didn't rate Semenyo when I first saw him - delighted to say I've changed my mind!!)

 

Agree with most of that, Semenyos absence is a concern, maybe one of the other young lads will step up?, it may well force NP to bring another striker in too .

 

Bookies are used as a guide ... pundits can subconsciously guided by bookies offerings! always bear in mind a bookmaker is a manipulator to masses ... only proffessional gamblers get to see beyond the odds offered ... make their choice then irrespective of odds offered have a bet!!
most bookies look to make 30% ...
WOULDNT WORRY TO MUCH about relegation want a bet go for top 6 /top half /bottom half .... about 8/1 to be top 6 = £50 = new season ticket 23/24

 

Happy Birthday tomorrow to 61year old Dave Smudger Smith, one of my all-time favourite City players.

 

He is finished sadly. best central defender but crazy with his tackling and headers.

 

It’s not unexpected is it?, I think his career is over, sadly. His long term health is much more important though.

 

I used to love watching him bomb down the wing myself. He was very exciting to watch, you could feel the excitement in the crowd when he looked to go on one of his runs.
