I think it's nailed on Rafa is staying. His body language and his choice of words in interviews, are showing that it's going to happen. He's just putting a bit more pressure on MA so he can squeeze that little bit extra out of him.
Get the **** in. It's worth relegation just to have a proper manager like Benitez in the job for the 2017-2018 season. If Ashley would just **** off now or keel over clutching his fat chest that'd be fantastic.
not really called for! Think MA has made major mistakes in the past but due to him being led by toss pots. Will the Real Mike Ashley please stand up
There is no way that RAFA would have wasted what he knows to be valuable time to NUFC if he was not 99.9% sure of staying RELAX !!!!!!!!!!
The only fly in the woodpile ? would be Mike but I do not think even he would risk the backlash I am a bit uncertain of the sayings could someone spell them out for me
Its incredibly frustrating for these mackems not being able to dampen the enthusiasm despite relegation. Its called supporting your club lads and lasses, get over it.
Yes I understand if the positions had been reversed you would have been offering your commiserations, but that is life you just have to put up with it
Has to be said if Rafa doesn't do the business this season, the fans will have nowhere to go criticism-wise. They spent the money, we got relegated. They brought Rafa, then kept him. If the going gets tough this season fans had better just get behind the team and manager and leave the bedsheets at home. Having said that, I'm very confident of promotion. Not saying it won't require lots of hard work and there won't be rocky periods over the next 12 months but you wouldn't bet against it right now would you?
I'm rather intrigued as to which players Rafa will bring in.....I keep saying he must have so many contacts out there in the football world. Looking back at his time at Liverpool, I'm sure he took a handful of Spaniards with him when he was appointed, including Xabi Alonso. I expect a couple of young Spanish players to be signed in the summer, and they won't be mugs either. Intriguing and exciting times.
We may have Rafa, a big name, and a big budget, but we won't be able to just pick who we want. We are a Championship club so players are going to look elsewhere in most cases. It will be quite a tricky transfer window and I can see our title assault being predominantly based on players that are already here.
We will have to wait and see, General. Players will want to come and play for Rafa, he has such credibility, and if he is happy to be here then I don't see why players won't be.
