http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...tml?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490 Apparently, we deserve better than Big Sam as he will keep us safe but play dull football. He's offering clean sheets in an era where fans pay a lot of money to go to games and the demand for entertainment, some sort of return on their ticket price, is growing. Erm, it's not entertainment if its your side on the wrong end of a 4-1 thrashing Stoke have signed Bojan and Shaqiri, Palace have Bolasie and Zaha flying down the wings, Leicester are a joy to watch, and even Norwich had two luxury playmakers – Wes Hoolahan and Nathan Redmond - on the pitch at the same time during the draw with Arsenal. Watmore, Borini, Lens, M'villa, AJ (when he gets going)... And right now some Sunderland fans will have been wooed by Sam's charms because of results. But his claim that Sunderland scored the winner at Selhurst Park with a 'classic counter attack' is nonsense. Palace messed up – that isn't a classic counter attack. And Stoke only caved in when Ryan Shawcross was, rather harshly, sent off. Hahaha, this is actually making me laugh Not sure about anyone else, but I have actually enjoyed watching us play the last few games. We haven't just been punting the ball up the pitch, but have been playing some good counter attacking football. The fast pace that our full backs and other players offer now means that we play some good stuff while keeping clean sheets.. I will gladly suffer a few more seasons of Big Sam based on the last couple of games.
This guy is bitter and twisted. Should be a Mackem with a name like that. He's more like a closet horse-puncher
I'd certainly settle for his current win rate continuing for the rest of his contract! Played 6, won 3!
Whoever wrote that article obviously didn't watch us vs. Stoke - we were the better team before the sending off. Against Palace it's clear we set up for a draw & if possible nick the win (which we did). Just look at our neighbours up the road on Saturday - they tried to take palace on and got torn a new one. I've not read the article in full but just what you've put on here. Journo's trying to be controversial to get 'bites' off articles to get numbers up. Why not write a few decent articles and you'll get more readers based on a growing reputation.
I've watched about six good years out of the last 57. S*it, I'll be wooed by anybody who can win a few. And I don't much care any more what twerps like that think. Don't tell me about your 'exciting' Championship garbage. Bitter? - damned right. Go for it, Sam. Win.
Adrian Durham mate! Need I say more! "Norwich had 2 luxury players in Nathan Redmond and Wes Hoolahan on the field at the same time..." Bet Barcelona were breaking the door down to get them then! We had Watmore, M'Vila, Lens and Adam Johnson on the field at the same time - 4 luxury playmakers - but that's not good enough!!
He's a complete toss-pot on Talk Sport as well. Comes across all controversial just to get people to phone in. Even the other presenters of the other shows on TS think he's a bellend!!
Adrian Durham is the journo here so of course it's nonsense. The bloke had to be controversial as it is the only way he can get people to listen to him. I fully believe that he doesn't believe the majority of things he writes/says he's just looking for reactions. As for the bit that says "fans love a relegation battle" well seriously Adrian we don't! A few years of mid-table safety, decent cup runs and possibly even the occasional flirting with the top 6 would make me a lot happier than scraping safety in the last two games.
If Fletch's goal against the mags wasn't a classic counter attack, then I haven't been watching football for over four decades. The Palace goal was a defensive cock-up, but Jones won the ball and sent a decent pass up front for Defoe to chase that gave us the chance. Shawcross was hard done by for the second booking, but our goals weren't about their being a man short. Daily Fail = ****ers of the first water....
Sam Allardyce has made a load of enemies in his book recently (anybody bothered reading it?) it's no surprise there's negative press getting flung his way. Get used to people writing **** about him and his club lads, people will go to all lengths to get a dig back at him.
I've not read it - will do over Christmas as I'm not at work for about 2 weeks!! Seems the consensus is however that he's upset a few people - maybe it should have waited until he'd fully retired.
Counter attacking football can be entertaining with confidence and momentum. But we won't always have that and we will have to grind out results and will be boring like the Palace game. But the Fail are deluding themselves if they think this squad is capable of much more. I mean for the last few seasons we've been **** and we've lost a lot of games with every media outlet telling us we're not good enough and we deserve to and will go down, suddenly Sam is getting it in the neck for not delivering points in 'style'. What a load of ****ing bollocks.
I think his book would be quite funny to be honest, if only to read about the time he laughed at Chico Flores.
Said it before -- when the ''top'' teams keep everyone behind the ball and nick a win or draw it's called a masterclass of the defensive side of the game. When we and others work hard for a result we are poor, boring and football spoilers.
Not bothered TBH. His book was released when he was out of work and possibly not expecting to get back into work this quick. Don;t really care what anyone says about him if he keeps on winning games - we're really no worse to watch than Utd at the moment in football terms! Obviously not been as good defensively until recently when we look much more solid (Kudos to Smalling for proving me wrong!) so I'll be happy if it keeps going - we want mid table mediocrity for a couple of seasons. Not bothered about anything else- be nice to have no worries about relegation battles going into the new year one season! twice in 30 years can I remember a top flight season that we weren't looking dodgy and we finished seventh both of those seasons - even the season we finished tenth (y'knaar) was dodgy for a long time!!
Adrian Durham is a ginger, buck teeth arsehole who revels in controversy. Sam's had six games & won three. Things are improving & ticking along nicely thank you. I for one enjoyed the Stoke game.
I saw that then found a better video and edited the post - hear that Sam Araldice is a little bit of a sticky character.... (@MrRAWhite would be proud of that one!)
