I do not understand why everyone thought Dag & Red would be easy hunting ground?

In knew it would not be easy but we should win as we are better, we have yet again underestimated a team, we seem to do better against big teams and worse against the smaller ones.

All over such a shame, we could drop out the play offs now when the others play. I think we needed to take at least a point today as we need to be near 40 points to go into 2012 after 23 games, I think we are 2 points short half way of what we need.

I had this on my pre season forecasts as a 2-0 loss, I changed it to 2-2 purely due to recent performances.

Dag & Red is not a good ground for us to go to, also on Saturday the daggers had a change in form by stuffing Barnet 3-0. They are fighting for their survival, much tougher opposition every time.

This defeat will bring us back down to earth and stand us in good stead for the Shots & Stoke games.

We need to beat these teams if we are going to have a chance of a play-off place.

Yeah I think that should do that, as they say all the good teams bounce back.

It is a sad end to such a good year really, 2011 has been overall a very good year for the club, great away year for the team as we have won many away from home, bring on 2012 and I hope for an even more successful year with a trophy to show for it.,

I still have my eye on the autos, even after this game I see we have a chance if we play good in this second half of the season.

It's so frustrating - we win at Crawley, then to lose at D&R.

Gills were unlucky in the first half - had a lot of pressure on the Dagenham goal - and might have added to Kedwell's well taken goal. We let Dagenham back into the game with loose defending -which led to a well taken equaliser. In the 2nd half our football was poor - too direct and easily lost possession.Kuffour hardly touched the ball in this period. Dagenham weren't a lot better - but seemed to want to fight more than Gills. Their winner was a good strike - but the guy was totally free in our right back position - with no defender anywhere to mark him. We also had little attacking options on the bench. Stefan Payne came on as a sub. I didn't expect miracles - and didn't get any. If there is supposed to be competition for places then any sub needs to be more dynamic when given the chance to play - Stefan wasn't ( but to be fair to him nor were the rest of the team in the 2nd half. ) ... and did Oli touch the ball during his 7 minutes ?
The conditions were not good - but as they were the same for both teams it should not be used as an excuse. I think that a draw would have been a fairer result - but in the end Dagenham seemed to want it more. There are lessons to be learned - hopefully we will be stronger for the rest of the season.
