I've found an easier way! Tap and HOLD the letter you want on the virtual keyboard, then slide your finger to the desired version (i.e. with desired accent on that letter) on the new mini-menu that pops up. Magic! à é ö œ, etc. Works a treat! Wish I'd known this earlier! Works for all other languages with our alphabet. P.S. I have a mechanical wire-free keyboard (Logitech), so I rarely use the virtual keyboard. So now you can't keep me spinning for several days!

I agree. To get a vast array of math symbols on a PC, I use an add-on called MathType. Best investment I ever made!
I get my French missus to do my French stuff - far easier ! She's not keen on me using my German mistress mind when the need arises.
