You really don't seem to get it notdistant. People are not having a pop at Fletcher they think he is totally useless and are saying so. There is absolutely nothing that is happening to prove them wrong is there. In my opinion he is exactly that and if there was anyway I could engineer his exit from the club then I'd grasp it with both hands. The only thing that has been consistent regarding him is his involvement with abject failure both on and off the field. He Captained Argyle to successive relegations and has done nothing as a manager to shout home about. On the plus side of his CV is..........nothing at all.
Let's get Deehan back then, it worked last season, think what he could achieve if he was actually manager and didn't just sit in the stand.
Please notDistant it doesn't become you being to tongue in cheek.........anyway why haven't we been told yet about our D of F man.....has he had second thoughts.
That is not tongue in cheek Plymborn, sarcastic maybe, tongue in cheek, no. Something worked at the tail end of last year. New players were brought in, notably Blanchard & Purse, but then usually the manager takes credit for that. Deehan wasn't appointed until the end of January 2012, 4 months after Fletcher, by which time Argyle were already out of the relegation places. Three players came in on loan after Deehan arrived. MacDonald & Tsoumo came in on 31 January, within 6 days of Deehan's appointment and Steve Fletcher on 22 March. Fletcher said he'd had his eye on MacDonald for some time & Steve Fletcher said "It's the only club I would contemplate going to because Carl is a close friend, if it hadn't been him I wouldn't have even thought about it.". So we're left with just results, which as we're frequently reminded are all that count. Those too usually go down to the manager, so unless it was divine intervention......
Deehan never done nothing? why did he not stay on if he was a success. I doubt he would have achieved much if he had stayed, Just came for the easy money and a rest in the stands.. like the new DOF will do.. should have had this at the beginning of the season not now its almost to late. Brent, fans are fed up with it all and YOU Brent does not want it! Fletcher has had his chance and proved he is useless. He needs to go now. a nice xmas present . Brent is clueless also, why is everything done so suspiciously with the club. FLETCHER OUT! WIN OR LOSE TODAY YOU HAVE TO GO.
Fletcher out.. why not start with 2 up front? Why take the best layer on the pitch off at half time with no injury? Wa n k er BYE BYE Fletcher .. your clueless. 1 point .. could easily have been 3. Madjo now finished his loan Fletcher about time your loan had finished...
Because Joe going 4:4:2 from the start could have seen us 3-0 down at half time away, against a team at the top of the league with 9 points from their previous 4 games. As it is "Exeter took the lead against the run of play" according to the BBC and we finished the stronger until Blanchard got sent off. Gurrieri, I don't know, but the second half changes seem to have made us better all in all, particularly Feeney.
Well, my mates have just got back and if we had the 2 up front it would have ben 3 nil to us at half time , we were on top the first 20 minutes, yes they scored but we finished strong
Strangely I don't have a problem with one up front away from home where a point is decent enough. I have the problem when he continually does it at Home Park. I settled down with my computer and radio this lunchtime and after 5 minutes had gone my daughter and grandson turned up so that was the end of my listening. I didn't even know Blanchard got sent off until I read it above. Another defender with Christmas off again this year. Hmmmmm!
I absolutely agree with you there Sensible, if you're going to go for the jugular, do it at home against the weaker sides. Even at home, a bit of caution to start may be a good thing against the top teams. Most away teams who don't have an obvious advantage in form pack the midfield to start, try to quiet the crowd and go from there. One day, we may be strong enough to play our game home & away and let the opposition react to it. That time hasn't arrived yet and whilst that is the case, a deserved draw at Exeter is OK. Blanchard got sent off for two fouls with one of the Exeter players let off for a much worse challenge just after the first one. Par for the refereeing course in other words. Twitter reported that the Argyle fans clapped him off, so it was obviously a "good" sending off as compared to Purse's helmet fire a few weeks ago, which let everyone down.
Yes I read a couple of reports after posting and it seems Blanchard took one for the team so I will forgive him. I still don't want Fletcher to employ caution at home though. The confidence of the players is fragile enough as it is so a bit of "you can beat this lot and here is the formula to prove it" from him might not go amiss. He starts far too cautiously and that to me says to the players you are not good enough to beat this lot so we will have to defend and hope. If you are going to lose then do it trying rather than with a whimper.
