Most reports seem to be daying an initial loan deal with option to buy, but that the option becomes an obligation if he makes a specific amount of appearances for them. But nothing seems yo have been confirmed?
I imagine they're just going to use him for the mickey mouse games in the early rounds of the league and fa cup, he'll be lucky to get 10 games.
Last big pay day for him. His salary with us was around 40k. He has probably doubled that going to Manu. Financially for him at this stage of his career it makes complete sense.
Fair enough on wanting to go. Goalkeepers in particular are a unique case in a football club. There is only one No.1 so it can be a very lonely boring job playing second fiddle. I just don't understand him going to Man U to sit on the bench but that's up to him. Wish him well, he did a good solid job for us. Always thought some overrated him to be honest. Some saying he was world class and would get into most PL sides last year, each to their own but I never saw it. I think Pope is step up but I'd be concerned about Darlow. He's still a frenzied knacker at times. That is not all that relevant in my eyes in terms of Dubs however, that's a human decision coupled with not forcibly keeping players who want to go. I've never thought its a good idea. If Eddie thinks Darlow is enough, so be it.
I hope the club are ****ing Man U around and charging a 12m loan fee if they stay up... Rather keep him even if he's unhappy.
Meh, let him go. If he wants to go from a club we're he can fight to get in the first team, to one where he doesn't stand a chance in hell of getting in the first team, then **** him. The fact he does a runner after 3 games just cos Pope is playing well shows what a douche he is.
