We needed more horse feed but when Amanda drove in to the horse feed shop it was closed for Christmas break. The owner drove past, saw Amanda's car and came back, opened up and and gave her the horse feed. He then said, if ever we are in need when the shop was closed, to just give him a call and he'll come and open up for us

That's what I call service

It sounds like it has become a very sorry state of affairs in France if your daughter has had to resort to giving you horse feed, although that might actually be preferable to some forms of French cuisine.

I guess the horse feed contains frogs’ legs if they give it to the jumpers and, judging by last year’s form, the feed contains snails for the flat.
