And then confirming in the interview that he had given up.

Shocking thing from a no.1 driver to say over the radio during a race. Anythign could have happened to the 3 ahead of him which he could have profited from.

Alonso was only being realistic. For 20 laps he was pushing his car to the limit, doing qualifying style laps with incredible consistency. He was running out of fuel and laps - passing Button was no longer possible. Its not like he backed off and cruised to the finish line - he closed the gap to Button after that radio message. Actions speak louder than words.

Anyway my vote goes to Petrov.

So why is so much attention paid to some drivers words!?

Anyway, Pitlane Charlie I think has come up with it DC: "Webber's got in front of Hamilton again - oh no, it's a replay" .

One out of Murray Walker's own handbook there!

exactly, Alonso gave up on the impossible, and if something HAD happened to the others he was in the perfect position to take advantage. He just stopped pushing his car so hard, it's not like he pulled up at the side of the road.

but Kyles drug induced prediction yesterday has to be worthy of a pie in the puss.

As for Petrov, poor mistake, but a medal for doing to Schumacher what schumacher has done to so many so many times.

    Hahahah :)

Bet there are some idiots (clowns) trying to match his moves to Schumacher's in the past, time to move with the times me thinks.
Petrov is a genuine driver, mistakes happen.
Both drivers are great and I cannot wait for India.

Nothing more he could do.... Shocked me at the time but, it's not like he could magic himself ahead of Button.

Well they couldn't ask h to move over anyway could they? Both championships were over for Ferrari, and they hadn't got the pace to win with either car. Itd cause them quite a few problems if they moved a driver over when they can't win anything

It makes sense as a team to ask a slower driver to move over and let the quicker through at that moment. It might not sit well with some, but in a team sport it's a bit daft to hinder yourself really.

My Custard Pie is for Hermann Tilke.
I said it last year but it's worth repeating: I believe he forgot about the pit lane until the last minute, after work was well underway with the pit facilities. (Either that or he just couldn't be bothered to think it through properly). The whole thing here really is shockingly poor.

My custard pie goes to McLaren, and their magic disappearing pace. Fast all weekend, and then come race day, Vettel makes mincemeat of them. And i thought he'd chill out for these last few races...

That's what you get for concentrating on qualifying set up and not race set up.
