Too be honest I only remember his first 6 months in their relegation season. think he only played half dozen games but was shocking. If he was decent in the championship then good for him, could be his level, but that's no good to me. Apart from last season he's been a massive flop in this league. We've got 4 cbs with Rodwell as a 5th so don't want or need him.
His League One Player of the Season performances for Luton earned him a £3m move to West Brom, where he won Championship Player of the Season and earned a £10m move to Villa, he was also our Player of the Season last season, it's hardly been a disastrous career so far.
He was League one player of the year with Luton? 9 years ago at the age of 20? Well you should have said. Nah mate don't rate him, never met any who do apart from Hull fans on last season which is fair do's for you lot.
He played Centre Back for Everton fella, they claim it's his best position. Never seen him play there to judge but I know he can.
It was once suggested that he might become a CB because of his size, but I dont think it ever happened. He is a Cm and has been for most of his career, for both club and country.
Should have been clearer, he started out as a CB for Everton, Tosh Farrell brought him through the youth system as a centreback. Moyes faniced him as DM. Farrell still bigs him up for the position “Jack’s as gifted as any player that I’ve ever worked with,” Farrell told Sunday Mirror Sport. “I believe he could be the best centre-half this country has ever produced – that’s how good he is. I remember him playing CB against us on his break though season. Came of the bench and played there so he will have spent some of his Everton 1st team time as CB when called on.
How's he been this season? I thought he could turn out to be one of the signings of the season, but I can't think I've heard much about how he's getting on.
Not great to be honest. Couple of good performances but hasn't looked near to justifying his price tag. You can see he's talented though, hoping it clicks for him, been in and out the side as a result. Luckily Cattermole and Larsson are giving us the season of their lives thus far.
He was fairly poor for us. In his debut, notably against Hull, he played really quite well but you could tell he wasn't anywhere near match fit and was probably playing on adrenaline. Unfortunately he showed absolutely no desire to get to match fitness in his time with us and started to leak ridiculous mistakes, he then later claimed he was with us as a stepping stone to Premier League Birmingham which makes him a bit of a knob an' all. He's quick which gets him out of trouble, not really technically gifted and isn't the sharpest. However he knows how to tackle and organise a back four, two traits we're badly lacking. He's quite error prone but i'd take him, providing the fee is correct. Would hate to spend any more than Hull paid on him. 6m would be such a rip off considering he can't get into a side that's only conceded 5 goals less with a considerably easier set of fixtures
Don't think we're interested. We're only after a lb in Jan and will be back in for Virgil van Dijk in the summer I would have thought.
Davies over preformed on the basis of he might get an England call up (was never going to happen and rightly so). He's just not that good, Dawson and Chester are far better defenders!! Same could be said for why Huddlestone over preformed most of last season. Both dropped of after the last friendly squad of 30 where they didn't get picked, tell me why do you think that is? The only real case for Huddlestone is he truly is one of England's finest passers of the ball, sadly that's just not enough and he needs to realise that fast!!
Been to a fair few and watched the rest with mates on pub streams and agree wholeheartedly with this. I would add that Sunderland are a couple of players hitting a purple patch from being a very decent team. I have predicted a 2-1 win for them against West Spam and will be going to watch them get it. I think we'll be walking with bow legs away from Stamford Bridge, but we'll live to fight another day. I just want to Bruce show consistency and reasoning in his selections.
Pretty sure that's completely made up to suit the point you wanted to make. In fact I'm pretty sure you'd struggle to name the games you're talking about where they both suddenly dropped off. It's a bit like when people say PBs on-pitch teamtalk got us relegated, forgetting that we experienced an upturn in form over the next couple of games.
Someone sat in an office and been told to either find a story or make one up. Then said 'journalist' creates a story out of nothing based on him being dropped for one game because of a dip in form. This happens at every club with every player. If Bale can be dropped to the bench for poor form then so can Davies. We won't sell. We don't need to sell. We won't sell for a rival. We need him. You don't just casually sell the club captain. I will make an assumption that the person who wrote this 'story' is either a Leicester or Sunderland fan. This to me is almost the equivalent of Cristiano Ronaldo to Hull. Because both 'stories' are completely made up.
Aye, we're not creating anywhere near enough. We're looking solid as a rock defensively (Soton and Aguaro apart) If Gus can get us creating then we'll be fine. Don't start and we've got another dogfight on our hands. Give Costa a rough time and you can stop them scoring. He doesn't like it, it gets his temper going and it effects his game.
