Lascelles certainly looks like he'll be the better of the two, by a long way. We'll find out soon enough.
I think this needs to be addressed pretty quickly, our player of the season deserves some recognition, we're probably playing Ince more than Davies and he's not proven at this level... "There's not been an offer at this stage," said Davies, who still has another two years to run on his existing deal. "I'd like to sit down and talk about a new deal but there's not been an offer put my way. "That's a little bit disappointing but it's one of those thingsI thi. I've got two years on my contract so maybe the club sees that as long enough. "If the opportunity came up I'd love to sit down and discuss my future here but that's not my place. "I can't force anyone's hand into getting a new contract. That's up to the chairman and the manager. "I'm hoping there will be talks so we'll wait and see where we go." http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Hull...ory-21445187-detail/story.html?#ixzz373e7xfws
Or put more simply, when I signed I was one of the top earners and I was happy with that, now I'm not and I want parity. ... Comes across in the press as sounding a bit greedy, after all we crucified Bullard for being on a reputed £40k a week, but I would have thought his agent will have been whispering in his ear about this. The players have only been back two days and they fly out to Portugal today so I would have thought the subject might get discussed with SB whilst away and then passed onto the club when they return? Its hardly a story is it ?
Yes. The club has said that they will talk with CD after they get back from Portugal. A total non story by the HDM. Agreed ^^^^ this. If by the summer of 2016 Hull City are still in the PL then if he left for nothing why would it be an issue.? However, i expect CD to get what he deserves in due course. Key employees are always looked after. Saints wont get £25m for Lovren, but i do agree that Davies is wiorth far more than £12m in this crazy transfer market. Double nothing is still nothing. He will. Patience.
Not to Curtis they haven't, that's why there's an article about it with quotes from Curtis saying how disappointed he is that no new deal has yet been proposed. I'm sure we'll do something, it would be mad not too, though it would probably have been a good idea to have told Curtis by now.
The man's got 2 years left on his deal and shouldnt be speaking out about expecting a new deal... he had a strong season last season but he wasnt amazing enough to have any interest shown from any top clubs. Im sure around the new year he'll be offered a new deal but not 12 months into his 3 year contract. A little bit surprised about him speaking out so publicly about this... If I remember correctly he said something on twitter or something a while back about being on a train with one of the Allams sat behind him and "joked" about now being a good time to discuss his new lucrative contract....
thats the thing he's been at this level before but faded, after a meagre one season why does he need a pay increase?
Today me and lots of other hardworking Hull fans are on strike because of the latest 1% smack in the face offer of a rise....Love ya Curtis but you really shud shut the Fk up about massive pay rises on top of your massive wages...today of all days...just saying like.
Absolutely disgusting comments by Curtis Davies. We took a risk on him when nobody would touch him with a barge pole. Has started at other clubs well and faded badly. He needs to shut the **** up and be grateful for what he's getting paid by Hull City. We did well last year cos we signed players with summat to prove, does he think he's done it all now?? Keep pushing it and I'd stick him on the transfer list.
Stop striking and get back to work 1% rise is still a lot more then others get or if its that bad quit and get yourself a better job Im sure there are plenty of unemployed people out there who would have your job
Am I missing something? The only quote that talks about his motives for a new deal is the fact he's only got 2 years left. Obviously he'll want some more money as well but christ, some of you act as if he's put out an ultimatum! As OLM says, he's seen all these new faces come in, lads who have done nothing for this club and he may want to see that he's valued as highly as them. A lot of us fans seem to forget that being a footballer is still a job (a good one mind), if he can get/deserves a pay rise, good for him, it has nothing to do with what anyone else is on. Maybe you lot should get back to work when theres grafting people struggling to get a job, or get one thats not on minimum wage. Jesus, he might come and ask for a large extension that keeps him here til he's retired!
If it was me I would just tell Curtis that we would discuss it after all the new transfer business was done. Plenty going on right now that extending current players can wait.
