To call the overhead kick unforgiveable seems OTT.

He's not been as good as last season, but it's not for want of him trying, I remember in the last few minutes against Tottenham when he went up he was running around desperately trying to help.

I honestly dont think any of our players are emjoying the 5-3-2 this season, they look more comfortable when we play the 4-4-2....i dont understand why brucie doesn't see this!

Because we shipped goals playing 4 at the back.

Dawson was brought in for a reason - he is a top quality CB and of the three TH transfers he is the most inexplicable. Davies isn´t sulking, he is just in a bad place, performance wise. Dawson is stealing the show because he reads the game better - a reason why, to answer the question, he does so many last minute blocks and ends up on his arse - others would be on MOTD with their hands up to their faces and the ball in the back of our net. A worthy exception to this is, when you think about it, Paul McShane.
Back three can easily be Dawson, Macca and Chezz. Chezz had an outstanding game for Wales, Davies has been poor, so what was the thinking in ignoring Chezz. It's my opinion that the manager got it wrong. A CB two of Dawson and Chezz is way overdue a decent run of games. Right back is Rosie; it smacks you in the face it's so obvious. What doesn't smack you in the face is LB, but Robbo or Brady should be schooled, Robbo for me with Brady in front - Elmo on the other side. One of Hudds/Livs and Quinn/Diane in CMF; the alternatives here are the tactical subs - we need fresh thinking in midfield and Quinn is overdue a role. Jelly and Hernandez up front for a run of games - paired strikers, get it sorted. If Hernandez is still out then Diame on Jelly's shoulder.

Back at the Burnley game I criticised the lack of leadership and I was put down by the key posters, but that has not made my point disappear; in fact, others are now picking up on it. I believe that passionate, strong leadership stops you losing a two goal lead, I believe it allows a team to consolidate, regain shape and change forward tempo - I also believe it is the heart and soul of demanding possession on the pitch. Davies is a good lad, but he has lost his A-game, in fact he is struggling with his B-game, so demanding leadership from him is unfair on the player and the team. Dawson is the stand- out selection and it needs to be done now. Fall-back for the armband, if played in midfield, would be Diame, otherwise pass it to Chezz.

We've hardly played any variation of a 442 at all this season. The only time we did was 2 or 3 gamea when Diame first signed. I don't understand why you don't see this.

It was a piss take effort in a situation where we were struggling that resulted in an injury, reducing us to 10 men, and with it our chances of getting anything.

He's a 6ft4 centre back. It was ****ing stupid.

And you cannot argue, we scored goals, yes we conceded but if we don't play Davies and Mcgregor, we should solve that problem as well!...

    McG
    Rosie Chester Daws Robbo
    Elmo Thudd Livermore Diame Brady
    Jelly

The problem we've had lately is our wingers havent been able to get forward enough to support Jelly on his own. When the oppo neutralise our wide men we have no plan B.

    ... If only.

It was stupid, he should have just laid it off to Quinny, but knowing Davies as a player he wouldn't do that to take the piss, it was just an error of judgement. The injury and 10-men thing was nothing more than luck. You can't expect people not to try things in case they get injured.

Pretty sure we've got both our wins playing 352 this season.

I'm not saying that's my preferred formation, just highlighting the hysterical screechiness of some of your posts.

We did, but we might well have beaten Newcastle if we'd have stuck with 4-4-2 all game and our best performance of the season was the first half against Spurs playing 4-4-2.

Agree with the first bit, Tottenham was very much one up front though. I'd have called it 4231.

Yeah, fair enough, that one was more just at good performance with four at the back.

The 10 men bit was Bruce's fault for ****ing up his team line up then substitutions and having to make more to correct it almost immediately after.

Also Davies for trying something so utterly ****ing stupid.

    Sorry, forgot my tape measure.

My point is he is a big centre back, so acrobatics are not going to be his strong point.

And of course they weren't, he got injured. it was stupid.
