Really sorry to hear this - I know how horrible it is losing any pet. Lost many family cats over the years. I have the first cat of my own now - approaching a mere 4 years old but I already dread anything happening to her.
I am sure your she will have a long and treasured life with with you AT. Send her details to the Cat of the Day website and I will look forward to seeing and reading about her sometime in the future as I visit every day. My cats have been featured at the site on 4 occasions.
So sorry to say, we had to have Daisy put to sleep this afternoon, on advice from the vet. I can't help thinking she could have gone on for a year or so, but you have to trust the experts. RIP, Daisy x
So sad to hear of the demise of Daisy. You must send her story to 'Cat of the Day' as a tribute to her long life and the joy she gave to your family.
Mrs Kempton has found this picture of our last three surving Cats, Mrs BMB. The big one is Bramble, she reached 24 and was very much the teacher, the wise one. The two black&white ones were brother and Sister. They were a litter of two and Daisy was the runt. So Bramble was 24, Harry 19 and Daisy 21. The trick is Garlic Chicken and Mrs Kempton x
A very impressive trio K. Of the very many I have had the longest liver reached 18. The garlic chicken is a surprise. A neighbour we had in Sydney fed her female cat on raw chicken necks and it reached 21. Evidently the highest recorded age for a domestic cat stands at 38 and she was fed the following: Dry cat food supplemented with broccoli, eggs, turkey bacon and coffee and cream. Also every 2 days she was said to have received an eyedropper full of red wine. The cat was called "Cream Puff"and lived in Texas.
