"I would say and Curtis say its the other way around",and,of course, you are both entitled to that opinion. I have the greatest of respect for Curtis,as a player, but I think he's wrong on this one. Trundle never played at the top level,Robbie did. I don't ever remember Robbie having a "terrible" game.
Are you suggesting that personal familiarity is essential when deciding how good players are? Can I not conclusively state that Lionel Messi is a better player than Adrian Forbes until they've both met my mum? Or are you talking cobblers as usual?
Dai: "so you are saying that you know these players better than Curtis would... Priceless" I don't understand why you can't get your head around the concept of opinion. There's no right or wrong. I and many others think that Trundle wasn't as good a player as Robbie and logical reasons why we have that opinion have been set out. The best you can do is say 'Curtis says so'. Now that doesn't make one view right and the other wrong, because there isn't a right or wrong really. But your opinion is based on a weaker premise for sure.
Just curious, have we ever done an all time fans best 11 on here. would be interesting to see who the fans would see as our best 11. I would have to say though it should be from players you have actually seen play and not just heard that they were good players. happy to start, I am going with a straight 4 5 1 gk Roger freestone. Back 4 RB Rangel CB rekovic CB Williams LB Taylor Midfield. RW Dyer CM Bodde Cm Britton AM Michu ( i know its only 3 games) Lw Sinclair Striker Latchford. SUBS Vorm, Stevenson, James, Curtis, Trundle, Evans, Callaghan. I have done this quite quick and have probably missed loads out. There are players like allchurch, jones, charles. but, never saw them play so cant include.
As long as Britton is on the team , I'm good . Wonder how many players played for a team in all 4 divisions , not many I suspect . Arrived just in time to keep team in the Leagues & now is into his 2nd year of keeping the team in the Premier .
