Since November the Gas have played 11 league games: collecting six points from seven away games and ten points from four home games. With a heavily biased away to home ratio, collecting sixteen points from those eleven games is good average form. But the Gas still sit precariously close to the bottom of the table.
The problem has been that most of the other clubs who were in the danger zone have also played pretty well. The teams in the bottom third of the table have closed the gap with the middle third, leaving the lower half of the table very flat. Two or three consecutive wins and teams like Accrington and York have flown up the table. Northampton are looking increasingly stranded.
If the Gas could score a few more goals then we would climb the table rapidly. So we need either to change the defensive tactics and become more attack minded; strengthen our strike force; or preferably do both. But please JW do it sooner than too late!!!
