Winning cups you daft sod.

You could have been referring to the extent of my hangover ...<laugh>

I was too young to experience our 2 legged League Cup win in1963 / 64 so it was the Martin O'Neil years that gave us the first piece of Silverware ... seconds away from losing the final to an expensively assembled Middlesbro team when a youthful Emile Heskey bundled the ball into the net... fancied us for the replay at Hillsborough and sure enough Steve Claridge scored the winner.

2 years later and we were beating Tranmere at Wembley ... some uncomfortable moments but we were warm favourite.

Never thought it would get any better than that tbh ...

That league campaign was surreal ... games kept coming, we kept winning and the momentum just built and built ... Man City away gave us belief but we still expected to get overhauled ... when Chelsea drew with Spurs it was still a lot to take in ... disbelief, amazement, elation.

Yesterday was the real icing on the cake - wonderful goal, 2 fantastic saves ... then the little scrote who left us for 'bigger things' looked to have undone us ... poetic that he collected a losers medal whilst his fellow academy graduates, Harvey Barnes, Hamza Choudhry and Luke Thomas (a left back like Chilwell) all have nice winners medals ...

... best of all ... 60 years of FA Cup hurt put to rest and our name on that most iconic of trophies ... wonderful stuff. <cheers>

Probably should add .. . fulfilment and contentment ... love the direction the club is still going in ... but the memories from the time we got relegated to League One in 2007 up until lifting the Cup yesterday have completed an incredible football journey that started with losing a cup final when I was just a lad of 9 ...

There's a big 7 noe if you get in the top 4 they can turn the screw, but even if you don't top players will want to go there now and the clubs now been sold to the foreign TV markets I'd imagine
