Oh god, one problem with getting Wigan in the semi's is that we have to listen to Dave Whelan. What an utter bell-end that man is, by the way, he broke his leg in an FA Cup final about 100 years ago or something.
get off your high horse , fool . NO ONE has said anything about Wigan. Only a complete bell end , ....would CHOOSE to play City over Wigan , its not rocket science or being dismissive . Simple statistics dictate that there is more chance of us beating a championship side than the team that put six past us .
your post in particular reminded me of someone cheering like they'd already won something, so go **** yourself ya **** licking cock-rim
It's an interesting epistemological paradox, but while Wigan is indeed a cultural wasteland (the Jazz and Pie festivals aside of course), the random lewd comments of a Cockney aren't evidence of that. I have absolutely no confidence that we can do Arsenal at Wembley - particularly since we'll be lucky to take 20,000 I suspect. But the FA Cup is a great leveller, and I think the factor that I saw at City - and at Cardiff, and Crystal Palace, and Milton Keynes - which changes all this is that you have no idea how much this club loves that trophy, how much it means to us now, and how hard the players will fight to defend it. You watched us win it last year and I bet to a man you were delighted, and not just because of us beating City, but because of what it meant to the FA Cup itself. We put some magic back. If we were to retain it this year, could you grudge us that, if we had earned it? We won't beat you. But if we did, we'd be continuing to tell the world - this is what it means to us. This is how you defend the FA Cup.
Think you've already done a pretty decent job defending the FA Cup! Can't you just be classy and let us have a go with it? People are laughing at us... even some Spurs fans. Honest to God Spurs fans. Me nerves can't take this much longer to be honest. Besides, nobody likes greedy teams.
I think you're right Pete, either way in the semi, we've made a decent fist of defending it. I'm looking forward to the day out come what may, and if Arsenal do us, I'll be cheering youse on in the final. IF you do us.....
Welcome back. I won't lie, I'd rather have played Wigan in the semi's than Manchester City. Your record however has been spectacular, both in last season's competition and in this. Shows that belief can triumph over quality sometimes. I hope our quality will have too much for you though in the semi final.
mate only having a pop at the previous poster. i was thrilled when wigan one last year and supported them in the final. i agree with Wigan fans who said win the Cup and you don't care if relegated, as you can't take the Cup win away, and you could get promotion back to PL. no offence meant by this but you have had your fun and we really need to win this trophy if only to shut the media up, to shut Spurs fans up, to shut Piers ****ing Morgan up, and because it will be the start of a new era for Arsenal.
