Sometimes ligaments can be worse than a break. I broke my ankle in a pre-season game - the bone healed around Christmas time, but the ligaments took longer - I eventually played in April
Hopefully, the daily attention/treatment, oxygen chamber, etc will mean that he is back much sooner..!
