For 1 year he adds good experience and defensive depth. Reasonably good deal I suppose. Not excited by it though.
I think this is a really good signing, especially as Bassong is now completely out of the picture.
Perhaps Martin O'Neil put a good word in for us! His wages are going to be steep so one year with an option of another is good for everyone.

He may be on high wages but with no signing fee that`s relative, very pleased to sign him but i hope he doesn't start at R Back with Martin staying put....
I asked my Sunderland friend cyprussyd what to expect, this is his reply!
Carlos is a bit slow now, age catches us all but IMO he will be a first class signing for you, total commitment, good experience meaning he can read the game and a very, very nice man.

With Olsson banned and Garrido potentially injured perhaps we should offer a short term deal to a certain free agent

Agreed. He played well for Villa against us I seem to remember.
Good business. One year contract with an option for another. Don't think he'll play RB unless there's an emergency. Looks like we may need the cover this week-end if Garrido is out.
