Negativity is the pursuit of the feeble and weak minded in a sea of positive results what is one drawback. Lots of time and lots of season to go. Not an awful lot to complain about.
Not negative today but a little disappointed with the performance. The run had to come to an end eventually and West Brom have the 3rd best home record in the PL this season so is no disgrace to losing out, despite taking the lead. Where we lost the game was when West Brom shook it up and had 4 up front! As they had figured out Morison was not likely to hurt them at the back with pace they pushed up the pitch and piled on the pressure. So why did CH not make a change at that stage (before the goal) to give the back line a problem, i.e. Jackson's pace. That seemed quite an odd decision to not counteract the Baggies tactics. Not to worry, we are still sitting pretty and hopefully can get something against Chelsea.
Yes, we coould certainly have used Jackson's pace - especially when the through was played to Moro, as I'm certain Cinnamon woould at least have got a shot in rather be dispossessed by the defender!!! I hope that if Holt's still not fit for Boxing Day that CH starts with Kane or Jackson. PS - they also had Lokuku on loan from Chelsea who was always a threat.
No Holt, no points, no coincidence. When Morison had the ball he usually lost it and when others tried to play it to him it usually went wrong and we lost it. I know its been fashionable to slate Morison but at the moment its more fashionable to stand up for him. He was asked to play the Holt role and came up short. Simples. He couldn't hold it up and keeping possession is the difference between a losing or winning run. Marginal gains make a massive difference. He also looked impossibly slow when put through 1 vs 1. We need another striker in Jan to keep moving forward. On a more positive note it's been a sensational last 10 games and our team looks better than it has in several decades. No disgrace losing away to Brom and shows how far we have come.
Hang on a sec, I thought it was us lot who were "obsessed" with you? Please forgive me, I must have got it the wrong way round after all
I couldn't believe how slow he actually was, considering he'd a 'head start' on the defender!!!! If Holt's not fit for Boxing Day, I hope CH decides to 'Kane' Chelski!! <getscoat>
I'm hoping we look to bring in two strikers be it in January or around the summer break. I don't think our backup is terrible but I'd like to see a lot more quality then we have and younger forwards looking to be Holts rightful successor.
Analysing the game and criticising aspects of it is not negativity. Moaning about the club after one defeat is. But also there cannot be blind obedience to the idea that we have a squad of 25 top Prem quality players. I'm afraid Morison's performance yesterday, apart from one nutmeg on his defender, was dire to say the least. I mentioned on another thread that I have tried to defend him but he was the main culprit for our loss yesterday. In fact it was embarrassing when he tried to jump and control it and handled it instead. He was too slow on most occasions and their two central defenders were able to initiate attacks at will as they didn't have to mark him. I think the lad is a good Championship striker but has nowhere near enough quality to play in the Prem. I was as loud as anyone when Holt was in dispute but thank goodness a deal was done and we have him. We are not a one man team but we are a different team without him.
