Off CI "No, I'm not "leading" anything at all GG, I'm just contributing, like many others. And no, Rich, I'm not a "fantasist" or "a liar." Right, just to put it all in the open now - a representative from the F.A. contacted me yesterday to inform me that the club put in an official request for the name of "Hull Tigers" at the end of last week. My obvious question was; "But what about our request - cos we put it in first?" The answer was supportive "Exactly, there may be legal challenges required." This is THE TRUTH. (I'm not making it up for a laugh.) Anyway, after the meetings that some of our lot had with the PL/FA last weekend, it appears that THEY may not allow the name change to take place anyway, so we may still not need to worry.

I thought CTWD had just met with the PL? Does CI have another one of their famous exclusives or is this poster just posting bollocks?
He's nowt to do with CTWD but he is in with the Trust stuff and Allam should walk away after agreeing to the Trust buying him out for ten bob and a pickled egg.
Karlberg off CI talking common sense about this Supporters trust stuff. "And I agree. The OSC cannot even muster 2,000 members and that's only £8 a year and a lot less for kids. Its pie in the sky chaps. I cannot knock your enthusiasm or your efforts so far, in fact to even get around the same table as the Premier League bods is an achievement in itself. But if you seriously think that 50,000 people are going to hand over £1k each then you are in for a fall. You would struggle to get 50,000 to give £5 each, even at £1 each it wouldn't be easy. How do I know? Because it's been tried before when the club COULD have been bought for the price of an average semi in West Hull today. People will promise the earth but when it comes to actually opening their wallets that is when the trouble starts. A hardcore probably would come up trumps but it would be a pittance, an embarrassing pittance. The way to persuade Allam and the Premier/Football League about the stupidity of the proposed name change is to produce a petition with 50,000 genuine names and address on it.
Are there many people who can afford to spend £1000 on this?It is a good idea but I cannot see where the money would come from. I will be very pleased to hear of a workable solution.
In order to generate the funding needed for 20% of the club, 10,000 members of the trust would need to commit to £25 per month for five years. This would have to be underwritten. The fund would need to be secured against the assets of the club. Over the five years the trust would need to have full time staff, pay its own legal fees and it would have to grow each year by at least 10%. If the owner of the club said give me 11m and I will sell you 20%. There would be no money to cover the investment needed to keep the club running in its current position. In order to achieve the massive funding needed, innovative solutions need to be put in place right at the start, the right sort of trust needs to be in place. Is the Tigers co op the right trust, is its constitution capable of operating under today's climate, or will thousands of pounds and hours be wasted on re invigorating it when it could it be that closing it down and starting again with an off the peg solution would be cheaper? But what do I know?
I find it so disappointing the number of replies to the last few pages. If i'd put an Allam is a twat thread it would have hundreds of replies. Big things are happening at our club with these proposals and hardly any replies. I take my ht off to CTWD for trying to do something like this. I dont like the way they've gone about it but as pie in the sky as this proposal seems to me fair play but the apathy on here does not bode well.
The apathy on here is nothing compared to the real problem. In order to get 10,000 to commit to any trust you have to have a supporter base of 100,000. There are ways of raising the money, but I am not "going public" with them.
I know what you're saying, but I don't think I'm alone in not really understanding the proposal, other than hearing a potential for some degree of ownership by a fans group. The explanations I've seen have been from clueless clowns like tenfoot, or from people with their own separate ideas. I'm waiting for the "fan ownership for dummies" post.
Chazz, if you are really interested then fair play to you. It is easier for a fan owned club to survive in the Premier League for two reason. The TV money and the worldwide exposure. Both of which give us a substantial basis on which to build the club. In addition the KC and the surrounding area could be developed to provide Hull City with increased commercial revenue. We can learn from the joint development of the Etihad between Man City and the council. It may surprise you to know that one of those heavily involved in that development comes to all City's away matches. We have a potential sales team of 15,000, maybe more. Not everyone will push sponsorship of the club but some will. They could persuade their employer, their company or their partners to sponsor our club. Finally, when I came onto this board and made my first post did you think we'd ever have a meeting with Assem Allam and the Premier League? Sometimes when you aim at the stars you actually succeed. Yes there are problems, loads of them. What I'm interested in is solutions, how can we make this work. We have an owner who has said he wants the fans to own the club, we have a worldwide audience and the premier league money. If we can find a way of working with Assem Allam and getting an increased income of about £20 million a year we may, just may make it happen. Lots of mays, I agree, but the only way to swim is to get in the water. You get no prizes for standing on the edge of the swimming pool.
Fans Ownership for Dummies. A supporters trust is formed. Members join. The trust buys shares. In exchange for investment the supporters get board members There already is a supporters trust It has members and CTWD will bring in more. It will hopefully buy shares in the club. It will then raise investment There is a supporters trust It has 10000 members It marches to the top of the hill And is told to march right back again. Take your pick.
