The FA and PL don't just authorise the name change, they have to agree to it, or it can't be changed. The PL definitely don't want it changed, the FA are harder to pin down, as they're not a nine to five business operation. They are a group who meet very occasionally and don't normally like getting involved with anything until they have to and as AA has not applied to change our name, they will not yet meet with us to discuss something that hasn't yet happened. If AA is just expecting to get this rubber stamped, then he's likely to be a little surprised at what's actually involved, as the football world is against this happening and the FA definitely don't want another Wimbledon on their hands.
I think you are being arguementative. The decision to ask the FA for permission to change names is from Mr. Allam, just as it would be my decision to ask my local planning department for permission to build an extension on my house. In both instances it could be approved or turned down, based on the regulations and rules.
My point was under the presumption that if the FA authorised the name change, they'd agree to it. My point is, it is AA's decision to set in motion the name change. He may not have full control or authority in completely processing it, but it's still his decision. DMD doesn't seem to be able to argue against that, yet still tries.
Yes, this is my point. It is still your decision to build the extension, even if you don't authorise it. I'm not arguing that it isn't true, but DMD is for some reason?
I'm not in the least bit angry, honest. I'm just trying patiently to point out where you've either misunderstood, or not read what's been going on.
I'm not sure he is, he's just saying it's not AA's decision alone, others can decide to stop him if they wish.
I agreed with that? I know AA doesn't have the final say, otherwise our name would be changed by now.
Nobody is deciding to. He decided to try, and to ask if he can, be he can't just decide to change the name.
So nobody has decided that we should change our name? Regardless of the permissions needed, Assem Allam has decided he wants to change the name. Your argument is weak DMD. AA makes the decision, various authorities approve the decision. We'll just agree to disagree.
You're confusing 'decision', I believe. AA applies to change the name; the PL/FA weigh up the pro's and con's and make the decision as to whether his application can go ahead. AA has the 'right' to apply - but he doesn't have the decision.
Hull City Tigers Limited makes an application. So the decision to make an application to change the name belongs to Assem Allam. The decision on whether to change Hull City into Hull Tigers is made by the FA. 870 members is something I'm happy with. We'll soon have a paper membership form and we'll be able to ask people to sign up and pay cash. Our target audience will be in the same place fairly regularly over the coming months, so I expect to see some increase over the coming months.
I regard that as a decision. If that is the case and that is the confusion I understand. I'm not arguing that the final decision is ultimately with the FA or whoever decides, but AA starts the whole process, does he not?
Someone with sense, it was AA's decision to change the name. The authorities decide whether to approve the name change. On a side note, Obadiah, you're the most impressive member of the campaign group. You're always reserved and to the point and always respond with integrity. Just wanted to say keep it up Arse licking aside, I think it's tea time.
Could i sign my kids up? only 3 years and 6 months old and there 2 more members Edit i wonder if i signed up my united and man city mates up if they would be bothered, narhhhh carnt see it
Thats a huge claim to make and i believe not true no matter what was said in your meeting with them. Thats why i asked on another thread if the Premier League had made a statement to that effect. They havent. I've posted an article from Richard Scudamore a few times in which he states he will not tell Chairmen how to run their club. This is all about making money if Assem Allam can go to them and show it will make money (he can make this up i know) a company will sponsor/buy if we change the name the Premier League will rubber stamp it.
So just asked some friends and thats 14 more members we will have Now i just have to write the effin membership out 14 times and may as well send all them wristbands to my address and save on postage costs So if you see mulitble names come up with the same address dont worry its me adding my friends, Great Xmas gift too
