I have already gotten 2 welcome emails. Might want to see if you gave them the correct email address.
Each to their own. A different route does not make it an apathetic one. I have joined the membership group, bought a scarf and made a donation. I have signed the petition and made open and rational criticism of the name-change and the dishonesty surrounding it. If that is apathetic, then I wonder what else you expect. I believe the flag and it's signing was a good idea; to have unfurled it pre-game would have been acceptable, to me. To disrupt the view of many during the game was a poor decision. The chants, the staring, etc. at 19:04 are fair less intrusive on those who simply wish to enjoy the football (sic). Yesterday's move was clumsy on both parts and did neither side any credit, as a reasonable argument can be made against both. By not attending games (I will attend some away games, but in the home seats) I will not be giving my money to the business; also, my absence means I am not participating in his inverted consultation - in the fullness of time that may mean nothing to anyone, except me. Rather than apathetic, my action may prove to be futile, but, as I have said all along, I recognise that and will continue, regardless. Good luck with your chosen approach. Edit: I now realise that the flag had nothing to do with CTID and I am pleased about that - I apologise if my mistake caused annoyance. My principle remains.
I wasn't suggesting you're apathetic at all. I respect both yours and Kempton's stances, good luck back to you. What I do dispute though is this notion that the protest was disruptive. It's easy to think that without being there and hearing journalists talk about 'clashes with stewards' or however they choose to report it. All that really happened was a flag was paraded, everyone applauded and people chanted songs in support. There was no disruption, violence or blocking of views. I was impressed with how quickly this went through. Seemed like about an hour between you telling City1904 you'd report that to the group and it being in my inbox. Shame the club aren't that organised.
All i have got is an acknowledgement of my payment via Paypal, nothing else, should i have got something else?
No worries i just want to confirm it so that we can get as many numbers as possible to show AA its clearly not a minority. OLM confirmed yesterday that donations had reached over £1000 yesterday so here's hoping there's more to come.
I've just tried to get an update, but it's not all that straightforward, we have to match the membership applications with successful payments, but the PayPal account had £1850 in it after the first few hours on Friday night.
They asked me to join, so I did, but it's all in Portuguese, so I haven't a clue what anyone is talking about.
I didn't know where best to ask this and didn't want to start another thread, so I'll put it here so it at least bumps up the campaign link. Seemingly the FA need to approve the name change, and the Premier League also have a say. Is their any indication which way they'll lean? The Prem could think it devalues their product, but equally, they could think that rather than blocking it, and restricting their future decisions, there's little harm to them in letting us change ours. The FA I think is a lottery.
The FA are not happy with the way things are being done, but we're still waiting to find out what action they're actually going to take.
