No, Eric... sell the booking on to someone from up north for a profit!! There is a method in my perceived madness!!!!
Saw this on f365.com and it made me chuckle: 'We have reached the fourth week of October, and Bristol City have beaten as many Premier League sides in all competitions this season as Liverpool.'
Lets not get carried away; we beat a **** side's B-team, who only had one good player (Sako) who managed to score against us. For the first 20 minutes they battered us and possibly might have been 2 up if that rocket shot that hit the bar was an inch lower. We got our first goal by a piece of good luck and disastrous Palarse defending. There was no luck in the way Taylor actually dispatched his goal (it WAS luck in the way the opportunity presented itself to him) and in fact all our goals were well taken - particularly Bryan's, but after our first goal we were playing against a broken side who, Sako aside, couldn't see the ball through the blur of their own tears with one eye on the league. Not taking anything away from our very good performance - we still had to finish, but what I AM trying to say is that they are only 8 places above us in the league and the reason we beat them is as much to do with their broken spirit as our clinical conduct on the pitch. Whoever our opponents are in the next round they will be MUCH tougher.
A lot of this is true, but I don't think anyone's under the illusion we're now world beaters with a realistic chance of winning the thing - the next match is likely to be our last whoever it's against. ...That said, there's nothing wrong with enjoying the moment - as has been alluded to before, the league is the bread and butter, but it's nice to have a cup run and the possibility of the first truly glamorous tie in years.
Man Utd at Ashton Gate is our quarter-final, and to hell with rest, so let's enjoy this rare moment in the spotlight no matter what.
