"Yeah on that form we would have hammered you" Huh? Really? Come on now Hilts, you're reaching. John Hughs the one arm (arse) bandit
Cardiff are playing palace at the wrong time, palace could stay up with pulis in charge, I would not like to predict who will be going down, Cardiff wont go down, no chance of that, they battled back against the 2 Manchester teams, no one in the bottom half of the league will get 4 points at least against those 2 teams, and at home Cardiff are hard to beat, 14th place for them, your chairman will spend big in january
I hid all afternoon from tv/radio/mobile and evening until 10pm to watch it on the red button with my lad as he was working (hence I could not work the internet satellite thing). It was terrible. I thought "hello we're on here" after the first 2 minutes but after that and one Odemwinghie glaring miss, we were second best to a team of less than equal quality on paper. It was dreadful beyond doubt. City are 5-2 for the drop. That looks very decent odds for a gamble, not that I would ever bet against my team but I just cannot see a glimmer of hope. Watching Arsenal v Everton yesterday, I was envious of supporters of those two teams who watch quick, attacking, skilful and industrious football. City v Palace was just the opposite. WBA up next; they were far better than Norwich but couldn't finish so presumably they'll be itching to put that right on saturday with Long likely to be a thorn in our side as he was at Reading. Then you get Mackay saying he's not worried abut relegation. Is he for real? He put that team together, it is so slow and weak in midfield and up front. Our dependable central defenders at fault for palace's 2 goals. Plenty of hard work to do on the training pitch this week as December is going be a defining month NQAT. Depressing all round.
Nin - please walk past any lengths of rope you might find, and stay away from clifftops. It was bad yes - bloody bad and as bad as we've played this season. I need to go back to that Middlesbrough game a couple of seasons back at the CCS when they thumped a clueless City performance 3-0 (I think) to remember so much poor play in one game. All is not lost dear friend. Please take heart and remember Malky's countryman Robbie the Bruce. When he watched that spider trying to spin his web only to fail several times, he uttered those immortal words. Try, try and try again. Mind you, that was probably more entertaining for Robbie than this lot we're watching from Malky.....
What do you mean? Missed ours? We created ONE decent chance in the whole game!!!!! If we had Van Persie up front we still would not have won - and won't playing in such a negative way.
Can't believe that anyone on here could have watched the Palace game (apart from Malky) and blame Campbell for us not gettting a result. ITS THE STYLE OF PLAY!!! Leaving out the fact that Pullis out-thought Malky by simply bypassing our midfield (he usually does that anyway), the most worrying thing following our most abject team performance for years is this: Malky is becoming deluded. He said that he was not worried by our lack of goals, but would be worrried if we were not creating chances. We created ONE chance on Saturday, and that was in the second minute, after that we never looked like scoring and Speroni had nothing to do. With that sort of attitude he is not going to change from the current 'play around a little bit but then hoof it to Campbell approach'. Ben Turner has become our playmaker. I feel as sorry for Campbell now as I felt for poor Kenny Miller, who reduced his life expectancy by running for every lost cause over the top and down the flanks for an entire season (and then people started criticising him for not scoring enough goals!). IT'S THE STYLE OF PLAY!!!! We weren't great last season, but we got the job done. But at the moment we are so negative. We are doomed to be last on Match of the Day till May, and could become a bit of a joke for our neighbours down west. It's the last away game I will be going to this season, it's just too painful to watch. Following on from the negative showing at Stoke, it was truly dreadful. If we'd drawn at Stoke 2-2, and lost 3-2 at Palace then I would not have felt as depressed as I do now. For God's sake Malky, we get three points for a win! Song at Half-time on Saturday: If you sack Mackay, Malky Mackay Then we'll score a ......ing goal, If you sack Mackay, Malky Mackay Then we'll score a .....ing goal.
What MM said after the game made me laugh, in his words, 'I would be worried if we weren't making chances' What one clear cut chance, and the ball came to Faz like a bullet, and one that bounced off the top of Odem's head 70 minutes later. I think he needs to smell the coffee.
4-5-1 is only good IF the midfielders are good enough to support the lone front man. City's midfielders are too slow. I am an advocate of 4-4-2, always have been since I started watching football. Watching City in past 3 years has been a hard sell. Successful until recently granted but sometimes I yearn for the days of Bothroyd, Chopra, Burke etc ..pacy and skilful. Jones had his critics, and justifiably so but TBF he gave us several years of the mists attacking football seen for years.
^^^^^^^^^^ THIS ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ We dont have the players (yet) for a 4-4-2, IMO 3-5-2 might work better only downside is do we have any wide players that can actually cross the ball.
----------------------------DM---------------------------- -------------KTC-------BT--------SC-----------AT--------- ---------------------------GM----------------------------- -------------CN--------PW/KK--------JM---------CB/PO---- ----------------------------FC/NM------------------------ Seems obvious to me....plenty of options on bench AC if we're chasing - AG/DC if we need to consolidate - direct swaps for PW/KK & CB/PO & FC/NM
