I agree JWP was awful vs Watford but he's had a few ok performances to date. I just think Redmond has been consistently crap recently. If it's a confidance thing with him, agree with the other poster who said what about Gabbi, Buofal's confidence. From the posts above, I think most feel he's not performing.
I don't think Redmond or Prowse have played well at all since coming back from international duty. They were both playing well around the cup final time. Redmond had actually started to knock the ball past players and beat them. Prowse was being played on the right and was putting in good crosses and free kick deliveries including 2 assists in the final(if you include the disallowed goal), and even started scoring. he had the best assist+goals total for us in the league around that time. and they were both called up for England. But then we fell into that slump after Gabbi got injured and i just haven't seen either of them recover from that. Even Prowses free kicks seem far less on point.
I do agree. They are both young, hungry and keen to impress and are still learning. We will create far more chances if these two can get back on song. Hopefully they can get their confidence, technique back soon. The whole team will benefit.
Pompey and Bournemouth are SFC's rivals? Are you serious? I am a proud "Hampshire" person, so I take great joy when all the local teams do well. And I do think Chelsea fans are happy when the likes of Fulham, Brentford, even QPR and Wimbledon do well.
I don't think Chelsea fans consider Fulham or QPR serious rivals, and I am sure Chelsea would love both in the PL. Having said this, Fulham and QPR fans might consider Chelsea a rival when in the same division. Chelsea's rivals in London are the lovely Spurs and Arsenal, plus Liverpool and the two Manchester teams. The rest are opponents.
I'm sure they don't, as things stand. Not sure where you get the idea from though, that London clubs are all one big happy family. Any match between any two London clubs tends to have at least some of the tension and ferocity normally associated with a local derby. QPR fans really do not like Chelsea one little bit, btw.
I agree with your last sentence Archers!! You live in London. And yeah, the London clubs are not one big happy family, but I am sure Chelsea fans are not too worried about QPR or Fulham, or even Arsenal. With WHU it is an excuse for a punch-up, but I am sure there is no hatred involved. With Spurs and Liverpool however, Chelsea do have an intense dislike towards them. No doubt you will see things differently, so be it. Getting back to the Saints, I would say our rivals are Brighton. PFC are an irrelevance until the two are in the same division.
Here in Spain the intense rivalry is obviously Real Madrid and Barcelona. Espanyol and Getafe, two Catalan teams are just opponents to Barca, although Espanyol's fans see Barca as a rival.
Yes. As I mentioned on the "finishing positions competition" thread, the guesses for Saints before Watford averaged 8th, after that one game they averaged 12th. It even has a name; the availability error (or heuristic if you're posh). Vin
JWP played as a number 10 against Watford which really doesn't suit him. But he's always been at least decent as a right midfielder and has a good delivery from dead ball situations. Also, having him on the right would allow Tadić to go to the left side. I really cannot fathom why are people so lenient with Redmond when he's such an unremarkable player.
I would definitely play JWP on the right side of midfield against Manure as set pieces will be very important and he gives good defensive cover for Cedric who will be up against Rashford. I am a fan of JWP but don't see him as an answer to our continuing problem of not having a proper attacking midfielder. Steve Davis is probably our best option
