All he writes about is negative things about Palace and then finishes with the idea that all this will somehow bring the best out in the players. His celebrity guest at least has a valid reason for going 3-1 to Crystal Palace....he used to live near there and supported them.
There was a robbery this morning in Southampton carried out by a masked man.....I am of course not suggesting anything
A good material. We use carbon fibres in plastic but carbon fibre as a composite material is top drawer...
No need. THe materials in that mask will be a few levels above what we do... different industry really, but it is a top, top material.
Don't understand the anti-pardew comments really. He took us on in League 1 with 10 point deduction and almost made the playoffs, and won the JPT. If he wasn't the greatest manager then ok, but why the antagonism?
I agree, I have always been at a loss as to why people get so worked up over a fairly capable former manager who gave the club some high moments in League One, and he turned the downward spiralling juggernaut around. He was always extremely loyal in interviews regarding Saints too. So he likes himself a bit. So who cares.?
I honestly think he did well for us. I enjoyed having him as saints boss and he didn't betray us for another club like certain other managers. I think it just comes from the fact that he loves himself and is so easy to make a joke of... dancing in the FA cup final for example! Overall though, I have nothing against the man. Edit - Also if anyone says he is a dick for sleeping with Fonte's wife then forget it. That simply didn't happen. Just a rumour that came about because of Pard's reputation.
Simple really. I didn't like him before he joined Saints, while he was at Saints and since he left. I've never warmed to the man. I've always though everything he says is more about him than the topic he talks of. The JPT was fantastic but for a period he concentrated on that not the league - we should have made the play offs that year. For me it was a failure we didn't, not a success we nearly did. In football terms, he is tactically naive and I feel He lets his ego even get in the way of decisions. Never liked him. Still don't. There are some people I just don't warm too and he is one. Therefore, I quite enjoy it when he follows the traits that I see in him time and time again. The Pardew Affect 1. Joins team in need 2. Has initial positive affect (ego warms) 3. Has good second season (ego gets hot) 4. Next period starts to see wobble. Players start to become fed up with the rhetoric (ego by now creates feeling of invincibility) 5. Results crash. Players switch off from text book management 6. Sacked. I believe, though we'll never know, that we would have followed a similar pattern. We are all allowed opinions I keep getting told.. This is Mine
I like him, did an excellent job for us, bought in some fantastic signings, and gave me a day out to Wembley that I will never, ever forget. To do as well as he has in any industry you have to be self-centred and a little bit egotistical, so I don't think he should be slaughtered for those traits. That said, I hope we beat palace this weekend!
Personally I sort of agree with both the positives & a little of the negatives. He certainly did well (quite?) for us but hey!, football fans - we're a strange breed!
Was happy enough with what Pardew did for us, but, in hindsight, very glad Adkins was brought in instead.
