Far too simplistic Beefy. He's having a drought now, but I can't accept he's not contributing. He's never been a prolific scorer, doubt he ever will be. I could list you loads of top strikers who weren't goal scorers. Again not saying he is a top striker but saying they do contribute other stuff.
It's one of the reasons why I want Long ahead of Austin for away games. When Austin isn't scoring, he generally isn't contributing. But as you say, that's not the case with Long. Give me his energy, work-rate, harrying etc away from home all day long - not to mention giving the side a proper out ball. (I'm not saying I'd have Long in my side in an ideal world. But given what we have to work with, I'd have him in my side away from home, no question)
I woke up this morning with a sore head and then thought that all would be well as I can read how Saints have won v C Palace. Ah well the sore head will just last a lot longer
I think the only thing we really disagree in is what I mean by contributing. I am not calling Long ****, I am saying his lack of goals put too much pressure on Austin. Jay on the other hand is finished imo.
Buying a new striker or strikers is not going to magically make the ball get to them. Our problem is getting the ball into the striker. It was actually refreshing when Sims came on that suddenly we had someone trying to both get into the box and work out ways to get the ball into the box.
As I said back in this thread. Two strikers and a midfielder that can link up play. We don't have to go crazy with cash, there are bargains out there.
We agree on his lack of goals. I only picked up on it as I feel he does contribute - just not goals right now.
Yeah I am Chill out time for me now the nipper is in bed. Most of the time it's not that bad on here once the initial reaction calms down... why I generally (like today) wait an hour or 2 before coming back to post as once it settles down you get better conversation imo.
Straight out of the Adkins book of excuses that one. Maybe Forster really does have a problem if he thinks his right foot is part of the "bad" playing surface.
The ball rolled along with no bobble and he tried to let it come across his body to kick with his left, but it hit his right toe, jumped up and of course he then kicked the space where the ball would have arrived.
I know what you mean I've only read the last 2 pages. Who's going to be brave enough to do the all important Hapoel Be'er Sheva thread. Huge responsibility.
