I do agree with that, it's an excellent point, and no i'm not saying bruce is **** or bla the like.. that's just a fact! At these highest levels, regardless of a win you have to make decisions based on the team your playing esp away from home.. it's what a squad is for
Don't mind him, he's able back up, gives his all, that's all you can ask but I don't think he should be a first team regular, Faye is class and McShane has been far better for the most part this season. He's a steady defender but his distribution is awful to be polite about it and he's about as agile as an overweight elephant, gets done on the turn too easily for my liking. But like I said, I don't mind seeing him in the team, McShane isn't extravagantly better (as he proved tonight by the sounds of it) and at Faye's age he's obviously not going to manage every game. Playing him in midfield though is nothing short of insane in my opinion, as good a game he had there against Millwall, midfielders need to have some composure on the ball and at least some passing ability, he lacks both in epic magnitude and doesn't offer that steady, reliable, always available option you need a holding midfielder to be.
We sit in 3rd place behind Watford who we have to play at home. No reason why we can't beat them. It's Far from over and we still have a great chance of grabbing a top 2 spot. If not we will have to win the play offs. If not there's always next season. That same applies to every team in the top six . Lets hope we can stuff Burnley on Saturday ..... Edit.... oops..... Monday *
On the way back from the game and I have to say that the officials were ****ing ridiculous. If any game was to be investigated into match-fixing or bribery, it would be this one. Every challenge ended up with the Palace players on the Ground. Alex Bruce needs to be dropped for the Burnley game. He was bullied by Glenn Murray and didn't stand a chance. Faye needs to be back in IMO. We're too inconsistent and it's annoying that we're so close to automatic promotion, yet we can't seem to string together an unbeaten run. We need a repeat of December from now to the end of the Season. Total contrast from the Birmingham game, we have managed to concede 10 goals in 3 games which is worrying considering it's the important time of the year. Nevermind I guess. We still have Udinese to play at the KC and hopefully, that result doesn't spur Palace onto better things as they're now only a point behind us.
I thought the team played well in the first half. The centre backs and Quinn were fantastic. The linesman was the only person in the ground to see the hand ball. He was 10 years from the incident and I was 20 yards behind him and I didn't see it. I thought the two goals early in the second half were due to our defence seeming to disappear. Their third goal didn't seem to be a deflection. Phillips hit it straight into the net. We did lose heart after the third goal. Credit to the team coming back to get two. Stockdale had two scary moments early on.
Agreed. I thought the defence had a hot and cold night. They were brilliant for periods and then they would be all over the place. Phillips loves defences falling apart. I now hate him with a passion... I thought Quinn ran his heart out, but Koren and Meyler needed to do more defensive work.
overshadowed by the scoreline but i thought fathi looked super tidy. he has a great shot, i hope he has few shots outside the box. Gedo and boyd could not beat the last defender, they're a bit slow. Simpson huffed and puffed and did ok although the guy can't shoot but only header. I was pissed because i don't go to many games but lots of twists and turns before the end. Udinese have to play cardiff, us and leicester all in april so yeh. DOnt lose hope
I just saw the report saying that the third goal was deflected. I was right behind him and I didn't see it. Must be my eyesight!
He got a cut, it would have taken ages to patch him up and the game was already over. Easier to just pull him off.
