Andros Townsend during that incident (okay he's an ex Palace player so he's biased) quipped 'That's what he (Ayew) gives you, that level of aggression...which is vital to a team'

I actually think Havertz has been doing okay so far. People have to remember that he's a midfielder at Arsenal and not a no9 which he was at Chelsea. So measuring his performances on goals isn't a good indicator. What he did well against Palace was that we was winning duels, tackling, making good link up play, playing simple passes to keep the ball moving and pulling Palace players out of position. I think he's actually a very intelligent footballer.

There are definitely areas of his game that he can improve on, acting as a outlet, holding the ball up and of course scoring more. But I think it will come in time in this team. There are a lot of knives out for him, even from our own fan base, but I think you need to look deeper at the role he's playing in this team to appreciate what he's going to offer.

Is he a midfielder? My issue with Haverts is he doesn't really seem to have a position.
Even in his youth in Germany he played as a No.10 and out wide on both wings.

I guess that comes with advantages though but for me makes him more of a squad player than starter.

Don't get me wrong I think Haverts has been decent soo far. We just could have done with some pace on the break in those final 20 mins.

Made his name as one of the best young players in the world playing mainly midfield. Attacking midfield. Though he even played deeper early on. He was moved to 9 due to injury at Leverkusen and stayed there.
What i am hoping is that he recaptures his midfield form he had at Leverkusen. Harder League here of course, but he’s older.
