Missed the game, but saw the highlights and read some reports about the match.

Seems like Saliba made a huge impression. Not surprising, as it’s clear how talented he is, but I am concerned that talks about his contract extension have died down a little over the past couple weeks. He has 2 years left. We need to tie him down asap.

Likewise Saka, who apparently had a relatively quiet game, but played a huge role in killing the match off.

Odegaard really needs to be more confident when shooting. He should have scored a couple of times from what I saw.

Jesus looked impressive - lively, energetic, held the ball up, dribbling through Palace’s defence and not letting Guehi/Andersen rest with his sharpness.

Midfield was solid and did what they had to do.

Ramsdale made some huge saves and rescued us at vital moments.

Overall, a good win in a hostile atmosphere against opposition who we’ve struggled facing a lot in recent times.

Was a very decent win. We started off magnificently and probably should have been 0-2 up at the break.

We dropped off a bit second half and Palace had a lot of the ball, but you kind of expect that away from home in the 2nd half and Palace are no mugs.

Thought we did really well without the ball though. We kept our shape, hurried them in possession and when our backs were against the wall, every player stood up tall. Saka got back and helped out White when he needed cover, because most of their play was going through their left side.

A really good team performance, Jesus, Saka and Martinelli were a handful for their defence and our defenders made it count when the pressure was on

Saliba was immense. He is a proper Rolls Royce of a defender and like you say, we need to tie him down to a long contract.

We got humiliated when we went there last season, so it's great to go there get 3 points and keep a clean sheet on the opening day

    COYG !
