Well Mike - I think I might visit my local Bookies and ask what odds I'd get for a double that we stay up and Colchester get relegated. Should be worth risking a 'Lady Godiva' on!!! Good point Thai - interesting times ahead and I'm not convinced that any of the 3 promoted clubs will be making big signings, though I could be wrong. Of much more interest is who we will sign and or can bring into our youth team and hopefully find and nurture our own Bale, Walcott, Oxlaide-Chamberlain etc
Mike must be reading the ASDA tealeaves down there in Colchester. As the resident StatMan on here I don't think that we need to worry too much regarding the bona fides of this particular theory.
I can just imagine mystic_mike sat in front of the telly with his claret and blue scarf on and an endless supply of fruit-shoots in mummy's fridge willing Palace on yesterday, just so he couls unleash his new found, cast iron FACT on the budgie brigade. Priceless
The reason why Mike is so desperate for us to stop rising up the leagues is because, as we rise, the trend for Col U is inexorably downwards. When we won League 1 in 2009-10, Col U finished 8th. By this season, as we improved our final placing to 11th in the PL, Col U barely escaped relegation to League 2, finishing in 20th position. I rather like those stats. At that rate, when we qualify for Europe in a few years time, Col U will be a non-league club.
