I fear that the consensus of opinion amongst pundits has changed in only the last few weeks. Only a short time ago, diving was condemned outright. Now there is mainstream talk amongst them about contact. Basically, if there is a tiny little bit in the penalty area, the player is now being encouraged to go down, rather than trying to stay on his feet, in the spirit of the game. And pundits are recognising it like they weren't only a short time ago. The game has moved on, to its detriment, it appears.

 

It's sad. Girls Under 8's is more robust than the Premier League.

As for the comments of pundits suddenly changing their tune on diving. They haven't they have been talking about contact for years. Shearer never says 'that was a foul' he says 'there was contact'. I have been moaning about it for years.

If it is a foul then fine but contact does not mean it is a foul.

 

This new site is a bit fussy, but I guess I will get used to it, not sure I appreciate being called a New Member, or any kind of Member!

 

On the diving - Ivanovic went down like a sack of spuds, it was embarrassing. Now if it were Costa I wouldn't be surprised but the fact that someone as large and strong as Ivanovic has gone down like that makes my blood boil.
